Decent, but not high quality

The stool I received was dirty, and there was wear and a tiny bit of damage to the plastic on one leg. Like it had been neglected in the back of a dusty warehouse for a long time. Not so bad as to be unusable. Aside from that, I was a little disappointed, it was smaller than I thought, and not as easy to secure when folding out. It folds up nicely and fits in a corner unobtrusively, but I expected set up to be a nice snap-out and lock-in-place quick thing, and this was not that. It folds out, but almost loosely so, there's no reassuring "snap" when it's set. It has thus far stayed set and holds my weight just fine when used. Just enough to help reach the top shelf or the cabinet above the fridge, but I wouldn't recommend it much beyond that simple range.

This stool seemed to be the perfect item. We own an enclosed race trailer and I was looking for a folding stepstool to use for the door entry. We used this stool for 24 hours before it broke. It has a rating of up to 300 pounds. A 175 pound man stepped on it and the thing cracked in three places. I returned it to the store and am once again looking for an affordable STURDY stepstool.

I've been looking for a year for another kikkerland step stool in the 15.5 inch size. That's when I discovered they had been recalled. Only the ones sold by QVC. MInus one star for the 2010 recall. Apparently other purchasers have had problems. I've had mine for about 4 years, no problem, love it. Had to spend 30 minutes on internet to find one company selling the taller ones. We aware that if you weigh close to 200 lbs you could be in danger of breaking this thing. Ignor the posted weight limit. Like I said, love this stool, the folding metal step stools don't come close to being as easy to store or look as groovy leaning against a wall. I bought my original stool at Zinc Details. They had a greay and an orange with a different color on top inc polka dots. Did I mention that I love this stool.

I have been using this stool for almost 4 years and have found it very useful so many times. This is a great light duty stool. I am buying a 2nd one to keep in another location. I do not understand the negative reviews. I am a man of average height and weight. If I am lifting or retrieving something large or heavy I use a step stool.

I bought this step stool a couple of months ago, and have gotten a good amount of use out of it. My husband and I are both fairly tall and since we don't have rafters or an attic, this is about as much of a boost as we need for anything around the house. It's lightweight and folds easily (though it will pinch your fingers a little if you're holding it wrong) and really small, which is great for storage. I'm not sure why the other reviewers have had issues with it breaking, but mine seems nice and sturdy. Maybe the plastic doesn't do well with temperature changes?

Don't waste your time

I was given this step stool as a gift. I used it several times before it shattered into many, very sharp, pieces. I weigh nowhere near the 300# weight limit. I had cuts on both feet because I was barefoot when I climbed on. Don't waste your time or money! This is a very dangerous product.

I got it home, assembled it - no real assembly is required, just unfold into place - and as soon as I stepped on it to test it it broke apart beneath me. I weigh 240.

I have had this stool less than a year. This morning, I attempted to use it to reach the top shelf of my closet, where I intended to place a box for storage. While I will admit the box was extremely heavy indeed, there's no way the box and I together weighed more than the supposed 300 pound limit. The stool literally crumbled to pieces under me. It's broken in more than five places. Luckily I had only just started lifting the box, because I hate to think what would have happened if I had been holding it above my head when the stool collapsed. The worst part is that the stool has been deceptively reliable to this point.

This stool is a God-send for short moms and grandmoms. It's so convenient to store and grab anytime. It's just enough height to get items out of my highest cabinets, and I can whip it out when someone needs to sit on the "naughty stool" for a time out.

Great Little Stool

I love this stool, I had a leg injury and when ever I sit I had to prop my foot up. Since the stool folds flat it was easy to take along to church, restaurants, even took it to it to a bridal shower. After I healed I use it in my kitchen and stow it between the cabinets.........
