I received these from my wedding registry in 2009 and they are gorgeous as well as unique which is why we picked them out! Very easy to clean, and I love the matte and gloss combination finish. The large mugs are also a plus b/c I LOVE my coffee! no chips or damages, however we handwash all of our dishes so that might help. I tend to bang my dishes around quite a bit, and they've held up beautifully. I would definately recommend them or just Mikasa in general. :)

DO NOT BUY THESE DISHES UNLESS YOU WANT TO RETURN THEM ALL!!!
I was SO excited to get these dishes for my bridal shower this past weekend, but when I went to wash them today, I noticed speckles of glazing damage all over the outsides. It looked like some of the spots had been re-glazed (because the glaze was uneven, bumpy, and runny looking). Also, some of the white spots (where it appears that the original glaze had been applied over top of bits of ceramic that had eventually fallen off) now look as if they have been covered up with black Sharpie too! (I know it was Sharpie, because my old plates are black, and when I chipped a couple of them, I colored over the outer parts with Sharpie...it has a very distinctive way of sitting atop the glaze).
Not only that, but the boxes had obviously been returned also and had been opened because there were peeled off stickers stuck all over the inside of the box that did not go with any of my dishes. When I called Bed Bath & Beyond, they were really nice and checked the other 11 sets in the store and all of them were like that. They said that this company has recently started using a different glazing company and that some of the glazing has been damaged on more than just this style of Mikasa dishes. I was SO appreciative of their honesty because now I will be getting dishes from Bed Bath & Beyond from a different company instead of Mikasa.
These dishes are WAY too expensive to be so badly made.
