Customer Reviews for Conair Pollenex™ Solid Teak Shower Mat

Conair Pollenex™ Solid Teak Shower Mat

Shower mat made of solid teak wood can be used in or out of the shower. Not only durable, teak is naturally water- and fungi-resistant. The comfortable, grooved mat has a vented design for air and water flow. Lightly coated with mineral oil to provide a non-slip finish on top and feet are padded for non-slip footing. Measures 21" L x 14" W x 1 1/5" H.

Not sure why you would even want to put a big ribbed wood rack in the shower... If you're looking for shower grip I'd think something low-profile, synthetic, and attached with adhesive would be the way to go.
But, if you're looking to get rid of a carpeted shower matt this is 5 star all the way. Think about it for a second... a big piece of carpet next to a bath/shower. How does that make any sense. I don't care how quickly polyester carpet dries, it's not fast enough allowing all sorts of mold bacteria, fungi, and yeast to grow. And it collects dust and urine spatter. Yeah, no thanks I'll pass on the luxurious shower carpet... And how exactly do you wash a shower rug. Talk about imbalanced load if you try to wash that skanky, shower mop.
Do yourself a favor forget carpet in the bathroom. It make no sense on any level, especially the one that wraps around your toilet! Gross...
If you are looking to submerge an elevated piece of wood in your shower and expect it to benefit you somehow than I don't know what to tell you because I certainly don't get it.
If your looking for something to stand on with grip getting out of the shower, that isn't ice cold, dries, quickly, won't slip, or become a petri dish, and looks aesthetic, then this is your matt.

I was remodeling my bathroom, therefore I wanted something spa like decor. This teak mat is beautiful that's all. It does not do the work, whether you have a shower or a tub it does not work." IT SLIPS" don't even think about putting this mat in a tub unless you want to break your neck. I honestly think this product should be discontinue. Unfortunately I didn't return mine, and trust me I regret it every time I see the mat.

I love the wood, I love the feel, but it slips in the shower when you step on it with the first foot that touches it.
Not recommended. May take mine back or give it to a friend with an outdoor shower...does not go well on tile which is why I got it in the first place...slippery tile.

This mat looks great when you first buy it, but the quality is terrible. It started to peel after only two weeks. I took it back to BB&B and they gave a replacement. The second one didn't even make it through the first week before the surface began to peel. There are only of us and it had VERY light use. It sits outside the shower, not inside. So, all we did was step on it on the way in and out of the shower.

For those who hate putting wet feet on carpet!

Most bathmats are disgusting carpety cloth that is not enjoyable to step on with wet feet. I also do not enjoy thinking about the muck collecting in the fibers, even when washed regularly. This teak bathmat provides a great step and feels sturdy. It could be a tad bigger, but hey, I am happy to have it!

My husband and I received this tub mat when we got married. We registered for it because we LOVE the teak look. It looks fantastic in a shower, it doesn't slip around and it is very eco-friendly! I didn't give it five stars because I would have liked it to be a little bigger. My husband and I almost bought a second to fill the bottom of our shower with them! We had ours for 3 years...and finally by then it did start getting a little moldy on the bottom. But all in all it was fantastic!!

I saw this in my local BB&B and loved the idea of a teak bath mat. I ordered it online and couldn't wait to get it. Unfortunately, there were two important flaws: 1. It is way too small unless you are using it in a shower stall; and 2. The "no slip" feet are a joke. They are small circles of some rough textured material. I tried to use it this morning, and as soon as my foot made contact, the mat slid. Luckily, I had most of my weight on my other foot, so I didn't fall. This really needs to have suction cups or something that will grip a slick tub.
