My boyfriend bought one of these deluxe portable wardrobes at least a year ago, liked it & recommended one for me to store my seasonal clothing as our closets are VERY small. We bought it & assembled it, not difficult. I have a good amount of clothing in mine, both hanging and on the shelves. This was well over 2 months ago for mine...no collapsing of the unit, no problems at all with it. And my boyfriends' unit is also fine, very stable. We even stapled the bottom of the canvas cover to the plastic base to keep out my cats, etc. I don't know why other folks are having problems with their units collapsing except that perhaps it was not assembled correctly? I will buy another one as I have clothes in storage I'd like to bring home. In our opinion, this portable wardrobe is a great value!!

I also liked how this unit looked because it didn't look sloppy. It didn't last long and really didn't hold up to my two cats. They loved to climb to the top and lay in it. It eventually collapse and I too came home to find clothing everywhere.

Great for much needed additional storage

I purchased 2 of these closest systems over 4 years ago. They served primarily as additional storage b/c my bedroom closets are very small. I stuffed these to capacity and never had any problems with them collapsing or breaking. I do acknowledge for the price, the shelves and rods should be a better quality - they are cardboard but other than that the canvas material is sturdy, kept the dust out and color was great. It served me well. Not sure if I just got lucky with this product but I would certainly recommend them. Sorry for the other buyers who had a bad experience but I would certainly spend the money to purchase this storage.

I bought this in the store and did not see the reviews online prior to my purchase. I loved the look and color of this, but I too experienced the exact same thing as the other reviews mentioned. I came home one day to find the entire thing collapsed! I am really bummed because it looked great in my room.

I bought this a few months ago and was very excited about the size and the storage capacity. Came home to find it totally collapsed, jackets and linens everywhere! Spent the $ for something that failed. Very disappointed now I need to go spend more $ on something else.

Unfortunately I bought these before the previous reviews. Everyone is correct. They look fine assembled but collapse within days. I did not even finish moving clothes to them so the problem is not overloading. Both are now mangled masses of metal. And I've been told that I can stuff these pieces in my little car and haul this mess to a store for a refund.

I'm giving this one star because I can't give it zero!!!! I bought this with the same excitement as the others reviewing it. It took my mom and I about an hour to assemble it. The instructions didn't help much and the "shelves" are made of cardboard or something. Once I hung my clothes up the whole thing was wobbly so we put some winter sweaters on the bottom to weigh it down. It was fine for like three days until one day I came home from work to find the unit was collapsing!!!! Hopefully the new one I ordered today doesn't disappoint "/

Bought this yesterday and was excited about storing my son's summer clothes away. Took me an hour to assembly with a mallet. The shelves do not fit! The cross rods is a disaster and there is NOT enough SUPPORT! Poor quality for the price! Don't waste you time! I will be returning it this weekend.

I just received this item today and it was packed to fail. The bottom of the shipping box was shredded. The contents were in good order but the assembly went poorly. The shelving did not fit properly. I can't imagine placing anything heavier than undergarments on each shelf. I will return it as soon as possible and purchase a much more durable Rubbermaid! Sadly, the first review had not been written before I made my purchase.

I purchased this wardrobe roughly four weeks ago and it collapsed last night. The quality is poor, the shelves do not fit well, and overall the wardrobe doesn't hold many heavy items. I purchased a similar wardrobe from another company for $40 more and it was well worth the extra money. Don't waste yours on this item.
