I purchased this based on the great reviews but ended up returning it. First off, the pan is so large it was hard to find space to store it in my small apartment. I made a thin steak on it. It took a little longer to cook than expected and there were no grill marks. The only way I can see getting grill marks is to cook on high, which the instructions tell you not to do. Even called Calphalon who told me to rub oil on the pan before using and cook on medium. Frankly, I can get better results if I broil it in the oven. I saw no difference between making a steak in the pan as opposed to in a regular fry/saute pan.

I've had this grill pan several months. After reading these reviews, it totally exceeded my expectations. It works well for anything from frozen tilapia fillets to hamburgers, steaks, and chops. Clean-up is so simple. Soak in hot water and dish detergent. Then a plastic scrubby will remove most any residue. Rinse & wipe out with a paper towel and it's clean as a whistle. I do wish it had a lid, but the one from my 12" stir-fry pan works when needed.

Ok I have had my pan for 5 years - yes 5 years and it is in fantastic shape. I use this pan almost daily. On the stove in the stove - all kind of options. I buy this as a gift for at least 1 or 2 people on my list each year with my list of recipes when using. You cannot go wrong with this pan.

I received this as a shower gift. I've used it once so far to grill up some burgers, which came out perfect (much better than on a regular fry pan). This is a great pan. No need for oil or cooking spray and It cleans up very easily. It's perfect for someone, like myself, who lives in an apartment and can't have a grill. My next venture is grilled veggies!

I love this grill pan! It is my best investment ever. We live in an apartment so it helps us get our bbq on. It's great for quickly cooking meat for 2 - steak, chicken, pork chops. You can even cook onions on the side or whatever you want. We cook all of our bacon on it as well. The quality is great, of course, and it is super easy to clean. We use it multiple times per week.

Wow! My husband bought me several pieces of this Calphalon cookware for Christmas. It is unbelievable. The food cooks in a way that my food has never cooked before. It turns out the way food on the Food Network does with out me doing anything different. Beautifully grilled vegetables and steaks, caramelized onions all with just a tiny bit of olive oil. Nothing sticks to the pan, it cooks evenly, and a quick clean up. I plan on purchasing even more pieces to have a complete set.

My only complaint is the weight, but even that isn't too much to deal with once you see how fantastic your food turns out each and every time. I definitely recommend this product to anyone who enjoys cooking and wants to upgrade from their inexpensive non-stick cookware to the "real" cookware. Calphalon really is a whole new experience in cooking!

The Perfect Substiture for a Bar-b-cue

Having moved from a private home to an apartment, I was missing my bar-b-cue. On the Calphalon Grill, I've grilled burgers, chicken cutlets & boneless pork chops for immediate use. I've quick grilled and froze with the intent of finishing in the microwave--all came out moist and juicey. Just follow the directions, preheat the pan and cook on medium high. I will somtimes use a shot of Misto for thin chicken cutlets.

I just purchase my 3rd Calphalon grill pan. I give them as gifts because I have had so many comments on what a great pan it is. I use it for just about everything. Makes great grilled bagels, chicken breast, fish, steak, turkey bacon etc. I don't think I could live without this pan in my kitchen. (PS. I use it on a ceramic stove top without a problem.)

Excellent for Indoor Grilling

I used this grill pan to make some filets the other day and they turned out remarkable. I was able to make a reduction sauce in the pan after the steaks were done. The pan was easy to use and clean. The only reason I am giving it a 4 star rating is that I am purchasing a ceramic cooktop in a few weeks, and you cannot use this type of pan on it. The Calphalon Rep said we could use this pan if we were only going to put it on the cooktop for about 10 minutes. I can't wait to make some more steaks this weekend.
