I gave this to each of my children for Christmas and they are all thrilled with it. We have had ice cream desserts at Sunday dinner ever since using the great recipes included. It is easy to use and makes excellent ice cream every time. Purchasing an extra tub is a great idea, because if you want more than one flavor, you have to have the tub in the freezer for 24 hours. Make sure your freezer is at 0 degrees. We love this product and the price is right!

We received this as a wedding gift and LOVE IT! We made vanilla, and a few other flavors! The only thing that we don't like, is the quart has to be frozen whenever you want to make and we don't have a big enough freezer to keep it in there all the time! Other than that, we love it and would recommend it to anyone looking!

I just used my Cuisinart ice cream maker for the first time and it's the best investment I could have made! I've been using an old model that belonged to my dad that uses ice and salt. Worked great but messy and took my whole bin of ice, plus rock salt. My new Cuisinart isn't messy, made soft serve in 25 minutes and cleans up like a dream! Love it.

Sleek and stylish, low noise, comes with great recipe book that yield tasty ice creams, easy to use, ready in minutes! After mixing, I put the ice cream into a freezer container and freeze for 2 hours to achieve a more ice cream-like texture/consistency. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I've had my Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker for approx. 1.5 yrs now. Works just as good today as the day I bought it. But - more importantly....:) the maker makes the most delish Ice Cream! Better than any store bought. 1 of the things I've discovered is you really cannot mess up a recipe. My fav being 'Vanilla Bean'. It comes with a recipe book (not many recipes), so I search the web for recipes. Some report it is noisy - well, using my old electric IC Maker - that was noisy. This is nothing compared to it.. Using fresh heavy whipping cream, half & half, sweetened condensed milk as a base - any flavor is possible! I personally like my IC very creamy, i.e.. Dairy Queen type creamy - well, I've found many recipes that match it. Or better. Couldn't be any easier! Works like a gem.

We bought this machine as a Christmas gift for our grandchildren and they love it! We all made ice cream right away and it was soooo easy and took less than 30 minutes. They use it all the time for making ice cream and frozen yogurt. The associate, Dave at the local Bed Bath & Beyond was great and helped us with the sale and to locate a spare freezer bowl on-line so they could always have one ready in the freezer. We are going to buy one for ourselves to use at home.

I bought this ice cream maker several weeks ago so I wouldn't have to make so much ice and have rock salt on hand when I wanted to make ice cream and other frozen desserts. (I have made ice cream for years using an old-fashioned hand cranked freezer and know about making ice creams etc.) I love the convienence of having the ability to make 1/2 gallon of ice cream without needing ice, salt, or a lot of kids around to crank it! My husband and I were so pleased with this freezer we ordered one for my eighty year old parents! I don't think we're saving any money (the ingredients we use are high end) but the convienence of having ice cream and frozen yoghurt with little effort is wonderful! Try using Greek-style yoghurts with a little fruit or jam for an easy healthy dessert!

Other than professional (very expensive) ice cream makers this is the best one on the market. I did a lot of research first and it paid off. I've had this three years and it still works wonderfully. The only thing is that if you want to make ice cream (as opposed to frozen yogurt) you will need to make it in this machine and then put it in the freezer to harden.

i received this ice cream maker for my birthday. i was so excited to use it the day i got it. but i couldn't. i had to wait the next day because you have to freeze the bowl for 24 hours before use which was really disappointing. when i did finally get to use it, the ice cream came out all watery and i had to let it sit in the freezer for 2 hours before it was actually ice cream!!!

Overall, this machine does what it's supposed to - it makes ice cream. I think the paddle design is flawed however, which is why I rated it at three stars (although I would have probably given it three and a half if that was possible). The paddle seems too small for the machine so does not come close enough to the sides of the bowl to keep the ice cream circulating properly. This results in about 3/8 of an inch of hard ice cream stuck to the sides of the bowl during the entire process that then has to be sraped out when you're done. Because of this, I think it also takes longer for the rest of the ice cream to freeze - since it is not being rotated close to the sides of the bowl where it is colder. Otherwise, it works fine.
