COFFEE IS HOT, TASTY & IN RECORD TIME

This coffee maker was on sale and also came with a mail in rebate, so the price was right. It quickly makes hot coffee, fastest maker I've ever owned. I've had it 2 weeks & the little plastic piece, on top right side, fell out. This piece allows the basket (holds coffee filter & coffee grinds) to swing out to fill with coffee, and swing back in, snapping it closed. The basket now takes effort to close & open & so far coffee grinds haven't spilled out.
Makes good tasting, hot coffee, quickly. Fastest coffee maker ever owned. BUT, the glass carafe is cheap & expect it to break with slightest tap on kitchen sink. I've bought enough coffee makers to know the sound of cheap glass. Do I recommend? Yes & No. Poor quality glass and closure piece-poorly designed.

Krups FME2 coffee maker

Bought this to replace one whose carafe had accidentally been broken. The carafe on the new coffee maker is of very poor quality. One of the hinges on the lid snapped off after less than a month and the entire handle separated into two pieces after less than six months. Always liked this model but the quality has really deteriorated. Will never buy a Krups product again.

I'VE BEEN AN EIGHTOCLOCK COFFEE GIRL SINCE I WAS 5 YEARS. I'M OVER 60 NOW. I'VE HAD MANY DIFFERENT COFFEE MAKERS IN MY TIME.
JUST CAME HOME WITH THIS KRUPS, AND MADE 1/2 A POT, THE BREWING AROMA IS EXACTLY WHAT I HAD HOPED FOR, THE COLOR OF THE COFFEE WAS THE SAME. AND, THE TASTE IS GREAT. SO FAR, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COFFEE MAKER. AS TO WHAT THE POT LOOKS LIKE - I DO NOT REVIEW, OR ITS BUTTONS. BEAUTY IS ONLY SKIN DEEP. I REVIEW THE RESULTS OF THE COFFEE ITSELF.

Great Value for the Price

I have long been a fan of the Krups line of coffee makers; from the top of the line with all the bells and whistles to the modestly priced model I just bought, all Krups machines make excellent coffee.
This is the third time I have bought this model; it has not changed much in the past fifteen or so years, and since we average at least two pots of coffee every day, seven days a week, I can't really complain too much about this machine's one weakness: the hotplate burns out after a while. But as I said, fourteen pots of coffee a week for five years is pretty darn good for a household product, especially when you take into account that the price of this model has not changed in ten years.
Altogether a great value for the price: the coffee is excellent and it gives more years of service than many other counter top appliances I have owned.

I put a paper filter in wrong, it folded and water flowed all over. OK - my fault. But the coffee flows into the controls: bye bye pot.
It also uses a whoile lot more coffee than toehr coffee makers we have had.

Loved this coffee pot, one of the only cone filter units I could find, but it died at 7wks after heavy use; could have been partially my fault. No questions exchange...took three minutes in the store. New pot DOA. Clogged intake. Again, instant, no questions asked exchange. Got a new pot, works great, and I'm now a very loyal BB&B customer! Great customer service!

Grows Mold in Cup Display

I have had this pot for a few months and noticed the other day while filling it, a clump of mold in the front left display which indicates how many cups of water you have. At first I just thought it was an air bubble, but when I attempted to tilt it for an accurate read, it only dislodged more particles. I was completely disgusted and brewed two pots of distilled vinegar and then tried boiling water as well, but there is no way to clean it out or dry it out. After brewing over 6 pots of water, it is still there. Waiting to hear back from the company. This was not a cheap coffee maker and I should not have to worry about mold in my coffee!
Also, the glass of the coffee pot itself is very thin and fragile. Not worth the money!

It finally died after 8 years of dependable service, made great tasting coffee each and every time. Programming was quick and easy. I am going to buy the same model and will get another 8 years. By the way I make a pot every morning.
Budda, if you think the filters are too expensive you should give up drinking coffee.

Great coffee maker. Makes coffee quickly and I like the alarm that sounds when the coffee is finished. Simple and easy to set up without the annoying bells and whistles. Will purchase Krups products again.

I bought two of these - both had the same problem. The display stopped working after about 8 months. Just stopped. Nothing happened, nothing damaged it, it just stopped working. Fora $50 coffee maker, I expect higher quality.

Bought this in May it died in July. Krups will fix at no charge but it takes 6-8 weeks, so unless I want to go without coffee for two months I have to buy another one anyway. I also had a Krups espresso machine that stopped working within 30 days. B,B&B replaced twice and second and third machines also went bad in first 30 days. I eventually exchanged it for a DeLonghi machine which still works great four years later.

worst coffee maker I have ever owned

I decided to buy a good coffee maker about 2 years ago and I thought Krupps would do that for me. I am here now because it finally died.
The small tube used as a water level indicator ALWAYS had bubbles in it so I had no way of knowing if it was accurate and in tests I found up to a two cup difference.
The programming steps are difficult and not intuitive and lose their settings at the slightest power glitch. I don't know how many times I have re-programmed this machine.
Finally, the machine keeps telling me it has no water even with 12 cups of water in it and turns itself off, so now I'm looking for a new machine. When it works it makes good coffee, but who wants all of these headaches first thing in the morning... Don't buy this is headache is my recommendation.

I've had several krups coffee makers and have been happy with all. Best coffee maker I've ever had. I like the feature where you can program the shut-off between 1-5 hours. All american makers are 2 hours.

Worst coffee maker ever
1) cant poor without spilling unless you crack the plastic top.
2) Programmable (all electronics) broke within one month
3) expensive filters
4) only so-so coffe taste
5) would not warranty or stand behind the product
6) reservoir can overflow easily
I would give this a 2 star if it was 19.99 for price. I will never buy another Krups in my life.

Needed to replace a Delongi coffee pot - got this one and we are really disappointed. I broke the top to the carafe the first thing off while trying to get it off to wash the pot to start using it - tried to buy a replacement carafe it cost just as much as the whole unit. The cover to the carafe is obviously difficult to remove. We couldn't figure out how to program the clock or the timer. Very difficult to do. The entire unit is going back to the store. Sorry Krups was our favorite coffee pot ever.

This Appliance Fizzled Out

I was getting good tasting coffee for a few months however this product quickly faded. Hard to understand manual instructions to set clock, set auto-on, and CALC display comes on often. The reservior leaks and it 's messy to fill with water. Also, the two-pack water filter is expensive and I can only find it at Bed Bath and Beyond. I wouldn't recommend this product to a regular coffee drinker. At this time I'm looking for another brand and machine.

I received this coffee pot from my bridal shower registry less than one year ago. This coffee maker turns itself on by itself at random times during the day and night (without coffee and water in it, hence a fire hazard). The buttons stick. Now, I can't program it to auto start. VERY DISAPPOINTED!! DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!

1. Makes good coffee, and features work as described.
2. Very strange design to the carafe ... virtually impossible to pour without making a mess. Coffee drips to counter, and water drips to base of unit when filling (where it makes contact with the cord).
3. Handle to the carafe appears glued on, rather than physically/mechanically attached ... wonder how long it will last.
