I LIVE IN MANHATTAN NYC AND BUYING A JUICE COSTS AROUND 8 - 10 DOLLARS A POP SO I FIGURED ID BUY THE SAME MACHINE THE STORES IN MY AREA ARE USING SO I BOUGHT THIS BREVILLE 800JEXL. CLEANUP IS A PAIN IN THE BUTT BUT OTHER THEN THAT, USE A LINER FOR THE TRASH COMPARTMENT AND DONT JUICE SEEDS OR ANYTHING ROUGH CAUSE THE MACHINE WILL ROCK. I LOVE THIS MACHINE AND ITS SUPER EASY TO USE RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. USE A 20% COUPON ON IT AND SAVE MONEY WHEN YOU BUY IT.

I am so excited to find that I can juice collard greens and turnip greens with this juicer. After much searching on the internet I found out that the trick to greens with this type of juicer is to wad the greens up and stuff the chute before pusing them down. It's fast and easy to clean. I couldn't be happier.

We've been using this juicer for a week now, juicing 2-4x a day. We've never juiced before but after picking up The Juiceman's book at my local pharmacy on impulse I became very interested very fast. I'm glad I chose this model. The stainless steel parts are very sturdy and it all cleans very quickly (and when you're cleaning it 2-4x a day speed is a big plus). I usually just rinse immediately and don't even need detergent. After all, I'm probably going to to be using it again about 4 hrs later. We are getting so much more nutrition in us than ever. I'm juicing for 4-5 family members and this heavy duty model can handle it. It's easier to cook a simple protein dish with some pasta or single veggie on the side and then have a glass of veggie juice. I highly recommend newbies buy a couple books on juicing. They provide a wealth of nutritional information and how to better care for your produce and what you can combine together. I couldn't be happier with this model and may even buy another one for our vacation cabin.

What can I say - this juicer works great and is easy to clean. I do recommend using a plastic bag in the discard bin as you can see in the various videos on this and that it be cleaned immediately after use to prevent the clogging of the screen. But as long as you do those things it is fantastic and makes short work of just about anything. I dont find lots of liquid or large pieces in the discard bin..just a lot of delicious juice in the pitcher. I love it!

Not just a pretty thing to look at...

I, too, have been amazed by Joe Cross and his DVD, "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead". I am just your average housewife and was looking to benefit from juicing. The Mean Green is a staple for breakfast. What a wonderful way to consume more vegetables! This is my first juicer, but I have owned other Breville products. I was always afraid of the clean-up from juicers, but this is not bad. The Elite juicer does not take up a lot of space and looks fabulous out on the counter.

I am one of those who also researches the Internet for days on a product, reading reviews and critics, watching videos, and then going on my own reasonable decision.

I have been using this juicer for a week and I am satisfied. I would like to point out minor things:
1. The mesh filter is fragile and must be thoroughly cleaned, use the provided brush. Everything else you basically rinse off in hot water.
2. Use a plastic liner for the pulp container bin. Not only will this help keep it clean, but also allow for a more snug fit when locked in position preventing liquid to seep out on the sides. Occasionally, mine still does seep out, however, I just put a paper towel over it and it absorbs any splatter.
3. I didn't like that the warranty covers only 1-year, but I know Bed Bath is excellent in customer satisfaction. The motor on this is similar to my Breville food processer (that, too, has 1-yr warranty), but no problems.

All the parts disassemble very quickly and my advice is just have a system going for yourself. All my fruits and vegetables are ready to go on a large plate. After juicing, I disassemble and put the parts onto the same large plate. I hand wash everything quickly and place on my rack to dry. I never have any juice spilled on my counter.

great experience for the family

My son was excited when I brought this home and could not wait to get started. We juiced apple-pear-kiwi the first night and both thought it was delicious, sweet and tangy with an electric green color. 3 small apples, 2 small pears & 2 small kiwi gave us 2 nice size glasses full.

He loved that we were able to drop the fruit in whole and I was amazed that we could have a conversation while the motor was running on high. Not too loud at all.

Next night was orange-carrot-kiwi. But our current favorite is apple-carrot-kiwi. The juice yeild was quite substantial and I was able to leave some in the fridge for several hours later, still tasty.

It's a great way to get anyone excited about consuming fruits and veggies. My son asked to go shopping and only wanted produce. Nothing but bags of organic carrots, apples, pear, kiwi, and pineapple.

We have not tried greens or other veggies yet but after reading some recipes and watching "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead", I'm sure they'll juice well and taste great.

Clean up is a bummer with every juicer I've ever had (3), so I won't bother rating that. no one likes doing dishes, but clean it immediately so it's ready for the next use. And keep a huge bowl of washed fruits & veggies ready as well.

Every glass of juice I have; instantly energizes my body and reminds me of my younger years. I recommend this juicer.

This juicer is fabulous! My husband and I bought this model after carefully reviewing all the different makes/models available. WE are NOT disappointed!!!! This juicer is amazing!! Clean up (a big issue for me) is not too bad, but we do recommend lining the bin with a plastic grocery bag! We bought it for a juice fast. It gets used between 1-3 times a day and hasn't lost any power after about 3 weeks. It juices all fruits and veges we have put in it, some even whole!!! We wouldn't trade it for anything!!!!

I finally bought this juicer after considering many different models and I am very happy with it. I'm new to making my own fresh juices but so far everything I have tried has been delicious, refreshing and surprisingly easy. The juicer cleans up quickly and easily. The tip about lining the pulp bin with a plastic grocery bag works very well. I have never written a review before but many of the reviews I read helped me to decide to buy this juicer so I hope that my novice review will help someone else who is also new to the juicing world.

Expectations surpassed! This awesome machine can do it all. This juicer produces just as much as the highly regarded Jay Kordich Powergrind Pro, and it's an easy $150 cheaper. It's not cheap in its own right but the quality speaks for itself, from its output to its stainless steel exterior. I recommend this juicer to anyone who listens!

I read the reviews researched quite a number of Juicers and decided on Breville Die Cast Juice Fountain Elite. Returned it after the second use. The High/Low switch has to be held in either position you wish to use; how can someone hold the switch High for hard items and Low for soft items being juiced as per the manual and feed the shoot and use the pusher all at the same time? The manual also recommend that you mix soft and hard items, if that is so then why do they have a H/L switch? I tried mixing the hard/soft items for juicing and got the same results when I Held the High switch for hard items and Held the Low for soft items. This juicer does not pulverize the fruits/vegetables to get maximum juice as stated in the Manual. The residue after juicing fruits and vegetables were many large pieces of fruit and vegetables which defeated the purpose for purchasing this juicer. This juicer and many of the high profile Juicers need to go back to the drawing board and develop a product to perform as they claim it would and the comsumer would expect upon purchasing it. Upon reviewing many of the videos on Juicers it caught my attention that the hosts showcasing the Juicers are using soft fruits and vegetables they also never show what's left after the juice is extracted. The Mesh Basket/Blade is TOO small to masticate the fruits/vegetables so as to get the amount of juice that is expected. I also re-read the reviews that raved this product and realized that those reviewers are juicing mostly soft items. I juice Broccoli Stalks/ Carrots/ Fresh Ginger/ Cucumbers/ Bitter Mellon/ Green Apples/ Grapes/ Blue Berries / Grapefruit/ Orange/ Lemon and Lime and need a Juicer that can correctly juice those F/ V. I am in my sixties and not on medication and trying to keep it that way. Hence my intensive search for a Juicer that can supply my needs. This is not a reflection on BBB I love BBB, service is impeccable at all their stores. Love shopping BBB.

I bought this juicer to replace my cheap entry level Braun
juicer that was loud and messy, but this was the same loudness and more mess while juicing. Spat out chunks of beet in juice and dribbled juice out sides when full whith lest than 2 cups of juice made. Pulp was wet and ended up in juice, always messy ! This was joke for the price and expected quality. I returned and replaced with Omega 2006 which is the same price and much better .

This is the first Juicer I was tempted to purchase. My fears of the ugly appliance, the noise and the olympic clean up put me off the whole deal up to now. This promised to be different- clean and efficient, plus economical with the amount of juice it delivered, so I went for it.
It is remarkably efficient and easy to work with! Huge points for the clean up being a breeze. The results were fantastic and the entire experience is a pleasure. I love this beautiful machine and I am truly excited about Juicing from here on in.

I bought a juicer 10 years ago - they weren't like they are now - you had to chop fruits and vegetables and do all sorts of stuff to prepare everything before hand. I bought my Breville and I am in heaven. The coolest thing is to drop a whole apple in it. It's fast and smooth running and it's even really easy to clean. Its worth every penny.

Only 2 weeks of use and I've eaten more fruits and veggies than the previous 6 decades and all of it has been run through this thing.
It is so effective, fast and fun - makes me laugh every time I use it. It could probably juice ball bearings.
Clean up is a cinch. It could not be easier unless you had a personal servant.
BB&B was super to buy from - arrived 48 hours after online order.
Instruction book is still unopened - it is that easy.

We already had the Green Star Gold juicer. It is probably the best one out there if you have unlimited amounts of time for juicing and want a 2nd juicer for softer fruits & veggies. Watched the fat & sick movie and saw the Breville juicer. I would never have continued on the juicing path to better health if I hadn't gotten the Breville. It's SUPER fast, SUPER easy, and SUPER quick to clean. Got the all stainless model thinking it might last longer. Have only had it 4 days but love it.

Have had this juicer for about 2 weeks now. I am LLLLOOOVVVIIINNNGGG IT!!!! It works great, the pulp is very dry, almost like saw dust, Wonderful!!! Also, it is very user friendly and clean up is easy too.
