I have had my pasta roller for approximately 3 years. I have used it once a year and a couple of times this year for a total of 5 uses. While it lasted it was great, but on my fifth use it became impossible to change the thickness on the rollers. I think it's a very expensive tool to only get 5 uses out of it. Reading previous reviews, I know it's useless to complain to Kitchenaid. I'm surprised that they would market such a shoddy piece of equipment.

We have had ours only a couple of years. The shaft that drives the roller broke off at the nut. This is a metal part. I expected more from Kitchen aid

I purchased this 4 years ago and it worked like a charm. I used it a couple times a year. Recently, a plastic gear inside the roller broke and I contacted Kitchenaid. (Google this - this is a common defect with this product!) It's terrific while it lasts, but the company will only honor the warranty for 1 year. I probably used it 8 times - that's pretty expensive pasta!!!

We make a LOT of pasta and ravioli and my house. We have been using a manual pasta maker with a Pasta-eze motor attachment. It's going to Goodwill tomorrow! I had a chance to use this pasta sheet attachment at my friend's and it works like a dream! It attaches easily to the stand mixer and is about 80% quieter than the grinding Pasta-eze motor! Otherwise, it works exactly the same, with a "dial down" thickness adjustment and still made in Italy with great craftsmanship. I'm buying my own today :)
