Do not waste your money

This grinder DOES NOT last and is not worth the money. You'll end up buying a new one in a year or less. I've had mine about 8 months and no matter what setting I have it on I get the exact same grind. My husband uses a drip maker and I use French Press and neither of us are happy with our coffee right now. Spend a bit more and get something that will last.

VERY poor quality

I purchased this grinder because it was made by Krups, which USED to mean it was well made. Well, it never ground coffee at a consistent courseness or made a consistent amount of coffee, even though it has dials that are supposed to control those two characteristics. Now, less than six months after purchase, it has broken and is in the trash. It was a complete waste of money and unfortunately is consistent with BB&B's low quality standards for products it sells.

Lasted only a year

After about a year, we noticed this machine was grinding the beans very coarsely. The grind adjustment wasn't doing anything. Then it just broke. It can still grind very coarsely, but is basically useless for us. Overall, we were never happy with this machine. As others said, the beans got stuck all the time, making you have to shake the unit. We also noticed the base felt warm whenever it was plugged in, so we started unplugging it when not in use. This may be inexpensive, but we wouldn't buy it again.

I was shocked to see such bad reviews for this product. I have had mine for a few years now. My first one broke ( but worked exceptionally well) my second one I guess was not made as well so it did have all of the problems listed by other reviewers.
Time to go shopping again...will try another brand. Would recommend, but will write another review if I find a better machine with a different brand.
Poor quality control for the newer models i guess??

We're taking ours back after three weeks. It has inconsistent grinding (size), the beans get stuck often so you have to shake it to get the bean to fall into the grinder. The hopper is so small we have to fill it daily. But, the biggest problem is that when the dial is set at 7cups or higher it always grinds the full amount.
I should have read this review before we bought it. I'm glad you won't make the same mistake we did.

slowly died

After using it almost daily for 3 years it died. But it was a slow, painful death. It worked great at first and we loved it. Then it began to need someone to stand nearby and shake it because it stopped feeding the beans. Then the control jammed or broke so we could only get one size of grounds. Last week it just stopped. We're trying a different brand this time.

This machine, made in China, failed to start the second time I tried to use it. Big disappointment!

Don't get this one...

I had the same experience as FC2010. You had to stand right next to the grinder because it would constantly stop feeding beans and you would have to shake it to get them flowing through again. The static in the bin was a huge problem too. We switched this one out for another one and are much happier with it.

Not the best

I bought mine about 3 years ago and just recently it broke. The On/Off button sank into the little area where it's supposed to protrude. I can't turn it on anymore. I guess the little motor still works but if I can't turn it on it's useless. There is no screw to remove and see if I can fix it.

Bought this grinder probably three years ago and I love it. It grinds the beans just right. I've tried other grinders and they just dont get the grounds fine enough. I would definately suggest this grinder to others!

Have a cup of sludge

I purchased this from BBB about 3 years ago. I bought it because I thought Krups made quality products. I was wrong. I’m not a coffee gourmet, although I think Starbucks is sub-par coffee, I just want a decent cup of joe in the morning.
The coffee grinds are very inconsistent in size, which will leave a thick layer of sludge covering the entire bottom of your mug (if you use a French press). Plus, the grind is not course enough for a French press.
The plastic collection box is super-charged with static, forcing the user to tap the coffee grinds out. This eventually leads to chipping and/or cracking of the cheap plastic box.
The beans constantly stop flowing from the hopper, which is indicated by a high-revving sound. So be prepared to have to hit and shake this thing to get it going again.
Lastly it broke just after 3 years: It now won't start. And yes I've made sure the lid & the collection box are properly set. I didn’t use it daily either.
If you're looking for a grinder that has near-pro consistency in its grind size, go for a Capresso’s Infinity conical burr grinder; it’s about $150. I say “near pro” because the Capresso still won’t grind without creating a small amount of dust-sized grinds, which is unacceptable for restaurants. Web sites dedicated to coffee and coffee brewing equipment list the Capresso Infinity as the best grinder that is still reasonably priced. To get something better than the Capresso, you’ll spend at least $500, with some modes selling for thousands more. Although the Infinity is much more expensive that this Kraps, err um, Krups, buying a couple of cheap ones every few years will cost you more in the long run.
