Not what it used to be!

Over the years, I have purchased a half dozen of these paper towel reels. They have been, on the whole, generally the best bang for the buck. But things have changed! I purchased another one of these same units a couple months ago. Once installed I placed a roll of our favorite brand (Bounty) of paper towels on it.... only to find that the towels will not unroll! The roll fits too tightly and it also rubs against the wall. Thinking it was the roll of towels, I took a roll from one of our older reels and put it on the new reel. No relief, that roll was too tight too! So I measured the two reels - the old one and the new one; - they look identical; but they are not. The new reel is slightly smaller.... smaller enough to impede its proper use. Pass on this "new improved" product.

this is a great device, reasonably priced. by design, it prevents the rapid-rolling-20-sheets-dispensed-at-one-time nightmare, typical of most other styles of holders. here's the rub... load it with regular size rolls - mega rolls makes it more difficult to get started. but several sheets in and you're good to go. getting an undistorted load of a new roll is a matter of technique. you have to spread the ends sufficiently so the end-holder doesn't distort the cardboard tube. i've found it helpful to adjust both cardboard ends once it's loaded to eliminate any distortion, i've mounted mine vertically to the left of the kitchen sink. position it so that the paper dispenses from the left side. if you mount vertically on the right, position each roll so the paper dispenses from the right side. i love, love, love that i always get the exact number of sheets i want every time.

This was my second purchase of this towel holder . It's very sturdy,which is what I was looking for, but it turned out not to be sturdy enough to withstand my husband's strength.

Looks great, but doesn't work. Hard to lo load paper roll. Paper is so tight on drum that paper has to be unwrapped or you tear it off. Total waste of money. Would return it if possible but had to destroy packaging to get it out. By pass this one & save your money.

Cool look but poor design

I love the brushed stainless steel look but to tear off a towel one handed is impossible. Even two handed is a challenge. The roll just doesn't spin on this holder.
My husband hates it and wants to toss it every time he has anything to do with it.

hard to find product

this type of papertowel holder is very hard to find. Without 2 wall mountings I can only see the holder being pulled off the wall every other week. the only issue with this holder is that it cannot hold a large roll of papertowels. there is a much cheaper holder that a reviewer said does hold large rolls so I may try that since I need another holder.
