Handle broken the 2nd time

This is a great lid if you don't mind the plastic handle breaking once every 2 years. The metal threaded sleeve inside the handle part is not long enough and the plastic will break after a couple years due to heat and oil entering. It happened twice already and I'm tired to running down to BB&B for a replacement in the middle of cooking.
The rest of the lid is great. Similar handles on other lids I have never ever broke on me..

dome lid vs. recessed lid

In my research to purchase a universal lid, I have found domed lids, recessed lids, and flat lids. Many reviewers feel this lid is made backwards since it is a recessed lid. What many don't realize is if a 12" universal lid is in a dome shape and being used on a smaller pan, the steam will roll down the inside of the lid to the edge and drip onto the stove. A 12" domed lid would only not drip on a 12" pan - that is why it was designed recessed - so it does not drip outside the pan.

I like this universal lid because it has glass in the middle so you can see what is cooking and it fits different size pans. Well worth the price which is reasonable. I liked it so much I bought one for my son.

Best Pan Lid Ever

Works excellently on various size pans, and knob can even be attached on the other side if lid does not fit tightly (on some styles of pans). High quality, and I really appreciate the vents on this lid. I highly recommend this item.

cover designed to dip down into pan with larger sizes. I found that all you need to do is unscrew the knob and reverse it - then the lid is dome shaped. Surely a design flaw - maybe the screwed the knobs on wrong ! Package labelled "hand wash' though description says "dishwasher safe'

Solid contruction, terrible design

I bought this product because it replaced a flimsy lid in which the center window constantly popped out. it seemed solid and practical. It was not until i started to use it in a variety of cooking applications that it was designed backwards. What happens is this: each size gradation has an indentation in the lid (about 1/2"). Unfortunately, the change is a HIGHER rim. What happens is that as the pan gets larger, the center portion of the lid (the handle and the glass window) sits LOWER in the frying pan. The result is that when the maximum pan size of 12 inches is used, your food cannot be more than about 1/2 inch high. The product is essentially unuseable for any frying pan over 9" in diameter.
This is the only variable size lid BBB sells in the store. I pointed out the design issue to two different BBB store managers, both of whom agreed it appears to be built backwards, and said no one pointed this out to them before.

This is great for those frypans that don't come with a lid! The multiple grooves allow it to fit a variety of sizes, so you don't have to buy a separate lid for each pan! The window allows you to keep an eye on your food, there are holes on each side (one side is bigger holes, the other smaller ones) for draining (which is great for browned burger), and the handle makes it really easy to use (plus, because it's plastic, it doesn't get hot!)
