I purchased this scale over a week ago. I just love it. When I haved weighed myself two or three times in a row the number has been consistent. I would give this scale 5 stars.

I have a scale like this at my personal residence and purchased another to use at my daughter's home while I was staying with her after the birth of my second grandchild. I think it is accurate, although it weighs me 3 pounds less than my daughter's scale. I'll take the loss!

My wife and I have our own bathrooms and this scale has found a home in my bathroom. She uses it as do I and even coming from a doctor's appointment, it gives us the SAME weight as the doctor's scale. That says something about its accuracy. Battery is holding strong and hopefully will continue to do so! Buy it and don't worry about it.

I've had this scale for about a year and while it works for its general purpose, it's not a very reliable scale. mine sits flat on a tiled floor and I've noticed if I weigh myself once, weigh something less immediately after (i.e. just put a little bit of weight on it with my foot to register a different weight), and then weigh myself fully again, it gives me a different weight within 2 pounds every single time. I use it just to gauge how much I weigh plus or minus 2 pounds but if you're looking for something more accurate, I would choose a different scale.

This scale will give you several different weights only seconds apart. Sometimes it randomly adds 100lbs. Wish I kept the box to return :(

Disappointed

Bought this scale for the looks and because it was one of the only ones at BBB that gave .1 increments. I haven't thought this scale was accurate since I bought it but I just went with it for the past month. This morning's weigh in sealed the inaccuracy deal. Did my regular morning routine and got on the scale. Then I finished getting ready for work and got on the scale again. With clothes on, I was still the same number. How is that possible with having .1 increments. I know my clothes weigh more than .1 lbs. I am very dissappointed with this scale.

I DO NOT WEIGH 299.8 pounds

Broke the skin on my finger attempting to the battery cover (I do have long nails) My hubby said it wasn't too hard though.
Placed the scale squarely on one porcelain tile in the bathroom.
When I stepped on the scale it told me I weighed 299.8 pounds. Hopped off saying that can't be right LOL and reset it. Hopped back on and now I weigh 292.8 punds.
Two tries, both mega, mega off. Back it goes.

have had this scale for 18 months. It will not reset to "0" so it cannot be used to weigh anything. Conair wants me to wrap it, pay $5, and mail it back to them. Then I should receive a new one. I don't think so. Will buy another scale, but not Conair. It was never accurate anyway.

Why is everyone posting low ratings?

This scale is beautiful. It matches our chrome faucets and hardware perfectly. It looks very sharp in our newly remodeled bathroom. And it IS accurate. Everyone who complains about accuracy or longevity, needs to realize that scales aren't meant to last more than about 5 years, especially digital ones. Also, the reason that it may have been inaccurate might have been because so-and-so wasn't standing still. This is typical with all digitial scales: if you shift your weight from the flats of your feet to your toes, or to your heels, then the weight will vary by at least a couple pounds on the scale. I give this 4 stars because I've only had it for about a month. But its doing its job. And it IS accurate. I just had a weight watcher's meeting the other day, and I weighed myself before I left. I weighed exactly the same at the meeting.
Everyone who keeps posting extremely low ratings for all of these scales has way too high standards for something so silly. Its just a scale, and you would've easily spent the same amount of money on something even more stupid to complain about.
Its a good scale folks, don't listen to these snooties.

I was going to return mine (bought a week ago), but I don't see ANY other scales on the BBB website that average more than 3 stars (ignoring single reviews), so I may keep this, after all.
I like the .1-lb increments, I like the look and size, and I like that it has a clock.
I was suspicious when the scale read the exact same weight on the 2nd day. I figured out that I have to "trick" the scale to get it to unlock: you have to weigh something that is several pounds lighter or heavier than yourself (I do this by using the wall or counter to press myself down or lift myself up a little and get a difference of around +/- 20 lbs. Then, when I reweigh myself, I can tell it's accurate because it shows a slight loss or gain that matches what I expect according to how I ate/exercised the day before.
So, since it doesn't look like any of the other scales are better, and I can at least get an accurate weight with this one, even if I have to trick it, I guess I'll keep this one, at least for a while longer.

sticks at the exact same weight for ages, which is highly suspicious, especially when it's supposedly measuring decimal readings. Changes radically when moved slightly. Terrible. It's non-decimalized predecessor was a much, much better product,

LOVED my scale right up to the point when I realized LIFETIME battery meant "the life of the battery" not my lifetime. My scale is only 5 years old and is a throw away. Very disappointing!

Not as accurate as it would seem

When my not much older scale started giving error messages I needed a new scale. I went to a BB&B store and tried several. Things I liked about this model were it's simplicity and that it read to 0.1 pounds.
Well this morning I am taking my second unit of this scale back to the store. Despite the theoretical 0.1 pound ability it NEVER read anything other than .0 or .5. Also in the span of a few minutes, with the scale on a flat hard wood floot I would get wildly differing results. Which was the correct one? Who knew? I would pick up an item of known weight (1.6 pounds) and reweigh myself. Sometime my weight would increase by more than that of the object and other times it would show the same weight as without the object.
It looks like I am going back to owning a Tanita, as I did some years ago.

In trying to find a replacement battery after owning the scales less than a year, I came back to the BBB website to see if they carried them. After comparing my experience with others, I have decided to simply purchase a different brand of scale - this one has always been suspect.

Not accurate

I've had this scale for 4 years now. It is a sturdy thick glass, but I have two major problems with it that make me want to replace it now. First, it only measures in half pounds. Second, the reading is inaccurate (e.g. zero it out, step on, stare in shock, step off, zero it out, step on, stare in more shock because you gained 2 pounds in 30 seconds). Maybe because it only does half pounds it is constantly rounding up or down. I even changed the "lifetime" battery thinking that maybe it was getting old and that's why the numbers changed so much. A new battery didn't make a difference. I give it 3 stars because I still think despite its flaws it is probably more accurate than your usual cheap analog scales and because I knew it only measured half pounds when I bought it.

Let me add my review to the ones before about how the unreliability of this scale. One can step on it morning after morning and "discover" that he/she hasn't gained or lost an ounce. It's a piece of pretty garbage.

I've had this scale for about 4 years now and it works great! I bought it in the store and have not had a single problem with it. It goes on with just a tap, as it says it should and has never shut off on me when it wasn't supposed to. To this day it works great with very accurate readings. 4 years and I still haven't had to change the batteries! If you want a good, sturdy, accurate, and long lasting scale, I highly recommend you go for this one. You won't be disappointed, trust me!

Avoid!!! There is no getting around this "feature". Get used to seeing "1800 hours" and so forth. Thought it would be great to have a clock as well as a scale in el bano......not quite. So far, scale is "ok" but clock feature just SUX! Wake up, Conair!!! For 40 bucks, expected better.

I agree with the other two bad reviews on this scale. I've had it for over a year and I used to trust the readings but for the last month it doesn't budge more than a pound from day to night and I work out like craaazy and know I've lost weight. For the last 4 days, it has shown the same exact weight every morning. I've stepped on it fully clothed and not and the thing doesn't change, took battery out put it back in and still the same exact weight! I am going to store to buy a new and different scale today.
