I bought this unit for storage for the toys and books in my daughter's room. It was super easy to put together and it looks great. I also bought 2 of the fabric "drawers" for the toys. This is a great addition to a child's room as it looks nice and with the fabric drawers, it makes clean up easy!!
I will be purchasing the 9 cube for my closet!

Very Flimsy

This wobbles side-to-side A LOT. I like the look of this storage, but if someone leans on the side of this at a party it will absolutely fall over. I had good results with the 3 cubby bench with storage top which is very sturdy, and I wanted another matching storage piece. This piece is mostly put together with glue and wooden dowels (and I'm not kidding or exaggerating here), rather than, say, metal screws, etc. In addition, the particle board cracked in one section as we were putting it together. I certainly expected more from this product, given that Real Simple is recommending it, and given the experience I had with another piece in this line.

We were looking for storage, affordable storage, and the flexibility this has makes it a winner. Being able to purchase shelfs, baskets and the other options make it easy to like. I would recommend this unit to others with a storage problem.

Bargain-priced storage!

I was able to put this together by myself. Seems quite sturdy and stable. I did not anchor this to the wall as suggested. I put heavier items in the bottom cubes.
I may also purchase some of the coordinated storage bins/shelves that are offered separately. But for now this is serving as a spacious and easy to use storage piece.
