Love This Product

My husband and I received this product as a wedding gift and we love it! He and I have very different preferences when it comes to soda, so this allows us to make our soda in smaller quantities (1L or .5L) and we buy a variety of syrups so we aren't bored with any one flavor. Now we don't have the same 2L sitting on the counter all the time going bad because one or the other doesn't like the flavor. We have been through almost 2 CO2 canisters now and probably 6 syrup bottles.
Still love the SodaStream, but don't be fooled, sometimes we still buy that IBC cream soda or Coca Cola brand Diet Coke every once in a while.

So Happy I Bought It!

I love our SodaStream. I was worried we would use it for a month and then it would gather dust in a corner. Not so. We've had it for over six months and we use it everyday. I thought I would miss my store bought soda but it didn't happen - we found lots of flavors that work for us and and we can have more flavors around then when we were lugging full bottles home from the store. It's fast and easy to make sodas and it's not messy. And I like drinking plain fizzy water too. I am just really happy we bought this product and highly recommend it.

Fun to Use; Great flavors!

We got our SodaStream for Christmas, and have been using it daily now for 6 months. The diet soda flavors are great (except the cola, but that may be that we just plain hate diet colas of any type). Our favorites are the diet lemon-lime, diet grapefruit, and diet orange. All have way less sodium than store brands, and that was a big factor in the decision to purchase. The 1-liter bottles make it easy to always have fresh, fizzy soda - no chance for it to get flat. You can make your soda as fizzy as you like, but when doing so, you may not get 60 liters (or 130 liters with the large canister) the company claims it will make. Because of that, and when I factor in the overall start-up cost of the unit, the soda flavors, and some extra bottles, I'm not sure this is actually saving me any money, but it's really fun to use, saves lugging cases of soda around, and ensures always-fizzy soda any time we want it. I would also recommend getting an extra canister as a spare so that you're not left waiting for your replacement to be shipped, etc. Especially if you decide to get the larger canister - most local stores don't carry that size. I'm on this website now because I'm ordering one for my parents.

I will finally drink enough fluids!

I had a similar machine approx. 20 years ago in Germany, and when I saw this one, I knew I wanted one. I never take in enough fluid, especially in the summer, this machine will change that!
Unfortunately I can't consume anything with artificial sweeteners, not even Splenda, but the new natural syrups are made with real sugar (the bottles with the large measuring cups). I purchased one bottle of each flavor and I am still trying which one I like best. So far it is pink grapefruit, lemon/lime is my second choice. My husband tried the flavors that came as sampler with the machine, he told me root beer tastes like real root beer. I can't try them, because they are made with Splenda or aspartame.
The display on the machine does not tell the truth regarding the Co2 level, but I believe it's not meant to be, just an estimate. I purchased a backup CO2 bottle anyways, don't want to run out on a weekend. I wished the 130l CO2 bottles would be available in stores, but they are only available through Sodastream online.

Not too shabby

I bought this because my husband drinks Coke like it's his job when it's available in mass quantities. This machine means that he has to make it for himself first and only 1 liter at a time. Much more reasonable.
Our particular machine did take some time to calibrate the fizzy indicator. Since we bought it for that reason we were slightly concerned at first that it didn't work. But after a few uses, it calibrated and now works beautifully (even after replacing the tank, it's still perfect).
I love it. The flavors are really good and most of them are pretty accurate. We do strongly prefer the Naturally Sweetened flavors, they don't have that odd artificial flavor to them.
Some of the other reviews say that it doesn't give 60 liters. I'm not sure how many liters we're getting, we haven't bothered to count. I just assumed that the 60 was for the lowest carbonation setting. We like ours quite fizzy so we probably get far less than 60.
Either way, it's worth it for some of the unique flavors they offer. I'm drinking the Apple & Mango flavor right now for the first time and it's delicious. I like to use the Pineapple & Orange one as a mixer. Coke is spot on, same with the rootbeer, and the grapefruit is the best I've had in America.

Disappointed: Not Making 60 Liters

Although I like soda and seltzer this product makes, the carbonator does not make 60 liters of soda as promised. I am getting maybe 30 liters. I even watched the video several times to make sure I'm not over-carbonating. After 10 liters the carbonator appears to be half empty. If you want to save time lugging cans/bottles home from the store and reduce plastic usage this product would be great--but the economic argument doesn't pan-out.

I LOVE my Fizz Soda Stream machine - all the diet flavors I have tried are just great! I used to drink Diet Coke exclusively but my husband really wanted this machine and didn't make sense to still buy Diet coke when we had this - the Coke Free is very close and I really like it, I am also loving the Diet Root Beer and Diet Ginger Ale for a no-caffeine alternative for my afternoon soda (instead of Caffeine Free Diet Coke). The Fizz chip in this model makes it the best model - you know when you are getting low on the CO2 and you can plan for it's replacement better and you can also see how much carbonation you are adding tot he water - a little, medium or a lot. I would highly recommend spending the extra few bucks for this model - well worth it!

Healthy Soda

Love this machine... Got one for the office a few weeks ago and liked it so much I bought one for home. The soda flavors taste good, and are close to the big brands. I like that there is much less sugar and carbs in the Sodastream flavors. If you happen to like soda water, the My Water flavors are awesome.. There are is no sugar and no carbs and you only use a teaspoon of syrup. I also like to put freshly peeled fruit in the blender and add it to carbonated water. This particular model has the soda chip that works pretty well with giving me an idea of how much Co2 is left in the cylinder. It's not exact but it gives a good representation of when you'll be running out of Co2. I also like the fact that this machine will take the larger size Co2 canisters. I highly recommend this machine if you love soda.. It saves me a lot of time, a lot of refrigerator room, and a little money.. I Love it ..

i begged my mom to get me this for christmas and woohoo! i got it! so far i love it and i have no problems with it! with the exception that it came with a dead battery. other than that i love it! the only thing is i wanted this model over the others because of the "fizz chip" because i thought it would be difficult to impossible to tell how fizzed it was without it, and thats what they want you to think, but my aunt's soda stream which is the genesis model work the same as mine, you still have to push the button 3 times to fizz it so i would recommend getting one of the cheaper models to save yourself a couple bucks

Easy to make in just minutes. No more bottles to carry and I can have on hand any flavor I like anytime because I know longer need to stock many bottles. One trick I did learn is that your bottles in the fridge cold and ready to go. The water not only carbonates faster with less CO2 from the tanks but also is ready to drink cold. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Works As Designed And Then Some!!

I love this product, I've owned it now for about 2 weeks and I use it every day. 4 "buzzes" is super fizzy, nose tickling bubbles. I bought the flavor sample pack which had I think 10-15 different types to try and the only one that was disappointing is the lemon-lime. The machine works great, the kids love it and the diet dr pete and energy taste just like dr pepper and monster/redbull. Yes, it's true it's hard to find the CO2 cartridges, but you can buy them at any Williams & Sonoma store, and there are 3 in Columbus, OH so I'm not going to ding it for that. I researched it before I bought it and I knew what I was getting into. Will it save me money? I don't think so in the long run, but I do enjoy making my own fresh soda or even just plain soda water. No more late night runs to UDF to buy a 20 oz pop because I ran out.

My first disappointment came when I got it and it did not have the Fizz Chip in the box. When I got it, which they did send quickly, it was difficult to install properly and did not work as well as, nor as explained in the adverts.
The unit's CO2 cartridge size is not currently sold in any stores, so the only way to get new ones is directly from the company which is not cheap ($49.99 each for new and $24.99 for exchanges) plus shipping and handling charges. sheesh!!!
I don't recommend this unit at this time... maybe when they start carrying the replacement CO2 in the stores... and when they work out the fizz chip better...
But at least it does fizz the water!!! Oh... almost forgot.... the twisting on and off of the fill bottle is kinda not so easy on this unit as well... So there you go... my honest opinion of this product. ... Cheers!!!
