Sometimes the best things are the simplest. Reliable, easy to use, only 4 cups - plenty for me.

POOR functional design

I bought this coffee maker twice (my stupid mistake for not reading the reviews). First one I bought has a flat spout so the coffee leaks/ spills when you pour it in a cup. The second one - the spout has improved (nicely curved) but the coffee leaks from the rim. Totally useless!! Until cuisinart makes some improvement on the coffee pot - they should not be selling this piece of junk. Too bad because it really looks nice and compact especially for apartment living where space is limited.

I have bought 2 of this. I like the way it looks - it fits well on my counter top under my kitchen cabinet - the first one I bought I discarded - the pot spout is flat and coffee spills when you pour. The second one has a better spout (it must be an improvement after all the bad reviews- which unfortunately I have not read) but then coffee spills from around the rim. I am so disappointed to have wasted (twice) my money on this product. I think Bed Bath and Beyond should stop selling this product until there are improvements on the quality of this product.

Awful - don't buy

I trusted this brand before I bought this coffeemaker, but no more. First, it leaks - the spring-loaded button at the bottom of the container that holds the ground coffee won't close completely, so if you remove the pot before the water finishes dripping through it, liquid goes everywhere! I even bought another container, thinking this particular one was faulty. Nope. New one does the same thing. Secondly, the spout on the pot is badly designed, and the lid for the machine won't open widely enough, so that it's impossible to pour fresh water into the top without spillage. Third, the lid for the pot itself doesn't open by just pressing with your thumb - you have to take the whole lid off by hand. Fourth, the on/off switch is not in the front, which would be convenient, but almost at the back, which is not. A big disappointment, and a complete waste of money.

Terrible

SO disappointed with this. I trust Cuisinart as a brand and have many of their products. I view them as a higher quality manufacturer and based on that bought the 4 cup Coffee Maker. I also purchase the gold filter.
What a waste of money! This product is simply a piece of garbage. It leaks, does not make the same amount of coffee each time, is impossible to pour without making a mess and does not keep the coffee hot at all.
After three frustrating weeks with this, I finally tossed it and am off to BB&B to buy another one (NOT a Cuisinart)

Wanted a small electric coffee maker and chose a name brand but very disappointed. The PLASTIC had a terrible smell and was of poor quality. I called Cuisinart and they said to run a CUP of lemon juice & water through it which I did twice with a little less odor. Also the coffee is not very hot when it finishes brewing and I have to reheat in the microwave.

Cuisinart 4 cup coffee maker

I have had this coffee maker for at least 8 years. I have never had a problem, and have always been happy since my morning cup of coffee is the whole 4 cups (16-20 oz). The coffee is done in 5 minutes or so, and the machine turns off automatically - a very nice safety feature. I don't need fancy, I need practical and user friendly. My pot has never leaked. Many friends have bought this machine on my recommendation and are all happy with it.

Defective carafe - wish I read the reviews

I like the idea of a metal carafe, but this one is poorly designed. First it leaks when you pour coffee from it. The leak appears to come from the space between the metal carafe and the plastic rim that the lid fits into. Doesn't leak when I pour cold water from it only hot coffee. Secondly you can't completely empty the carafe. There is always some left over that you have to shake out. Called cuisinart customer service to get a new carafe. They reported no problems like this. They should read these reviews. If the replacement carafe still leaks I am returning the coffee maker.

Utter junk

This thing annoys me. It turns off so quickly that the coffee is cold by your second cup. The feature that's supposed hold the drip so you can pour a quick cup while it's brewing stopped working within 1 month of purchase.
It's loud and messy and has a tendency to leak and it is awkward to get the pot back in place... which is probably causing the leaks.
There are very few 4-cup options, unfortunately... this one is NOT worth it.
Also Cuisinart - drop the stainless thing or make it thermal. It doesn't keep the coffee any warmer and just makes it impossible to see what's left.
Sort of ridiculous to complain this much about at $30 purchase but it starts every day with irritation and bad coffee.

out of the 40 years i have been on this earth..i have been making coffee for 20 of them. a couple of years ago from immense pressure from the world wide web of conservation i downsized my coffee cup making from 12 to 4 cups. with this being said my loyal twenty dollar coffee pot has passed away...hense the review....the product listed above is terrible...it shuts off quickly...you can't read the numbers in the coffee pot...the taste of the coffee is one like i have never experienced...BUYER BEWARE!!! with the money i saved i went to cvs and purchased 2 twenty dollar coffee pots from mr. coffee....and now i am happy...

I purchased my Cusinart 4 cup maker in 1999 and it has traveled with us 5 times to Alaska, 1 time to San Juan, and on vacations anywhere. This is the greatest coffee maker, No leaks, No drips, No complaints. But alas I am getting a new one after all this time of constant use, it won't drain the water tank thru the coffee.

Great Little Coffee Pot

I don't understand the complaints for this coffee pot. Mine never leaks, never gets coffee grounds in the coffee and is extra hot so coffee stays hot until I finish it. It is just the right size. Yes, the coffee pot has to be turned almost upside down to get the last drop but that isn't a big deal to me. I keep mine on my desk at work so if it leaked that could cause huge problems.

I have the cuisinart 4-cup stainless steel carafe. I have used it in a General Electric coffee maker that died after a few months of good service. I have no trouble with the carafe spilling when I pour. Also, have no trouble with the plastic parts on it breaking. (I don't have a dishwasher, but would not put the carafe in one anyway.)

More like two cups...

I purchased this coffee maker just for myself. I usually have between 2 and 4 cups of coffee in the morning. I also take it on my ride to work when I don't have time to drink my coffee at my leisure. I know the measurement says four cups but I guess that really depends on what size coffee cup or mug you use. I measure the max amount and get just a little over two cups in my average size coffee cup. I guess it's okay for what I need it for.

I could almost handle dealing with the excess spilling, if only the coffee didn't taste so bad!! I first thought it was the coffee I bought, so I bought a better quality brand....nope! Still tastes terrible! Returning this today.
