If you are looking for an alternative to an outdoor gas grill, this is it. It is easy to clean and cooks well. I lined the drip pan with foil. I like it especially because it is very convenient when entertaining with small groups or when the weather doesn't cooperate for outdoor grilling. It's a great product.

I bought this after reading mostly great reviews, but returned it after the 1st time I tried it. First off, only the drip pan is dishwasher safe. The grill top has to be washed by hand, which was difficult to do, mostly because it was too large to fit in my sink. Also, didn;t understand the purpose of putting water in the drip pan, as recommended. Second, it does leave grill marks, which is fine, but once the temperature level was reached, it seemed to stop cooking until the temperature light went back on. I made a thin steak and followed the instructions. I left the steak on 10 minutes longer than recommended and it was still raw in the middle. I ended up putting it in the microwave to cook it thoroughly. Certainly not what I expected.

Love This Grill

I purchased this grill last month after I was tired of fighting with my propane outdoor grill. I was looking for a grill that would give me grill marks and still keep the flavor in my food that was easy to clean and fast to heat up. I found it with this grill. It has 5 different setttings and a nice drip pan underneath. I use this ontop of my deep freezer and it doesn't get too hot that it burns the top of the freezer. This grill is amazing. I love it. When I couldnt use oil due to this diet I was on, I would just throw the meat on the hot grill and let it cook. My meat never stuck to the grill or anything. The grill is so easy to clean, I just throw the grill in some soapy water and wash with my dish towel. This is better than the George Foreman grill that would cook my seasoning away.

I'm happy with this grill so far. I considered one of the George Foreman grills and got this instead because once the thermostat is unplugged all the other components are dishwasher safe, including the grill surface. I also like how the drip tray is beneath the entire grilling surface rather than to one side. So far I have grilled boneless chicken breasts and steaks. Both remained juicy and didn't dry out even when fully cooked through. The first time I used it I "seasoned" the grill with a dab of olive oil on a paper towel and it didn't smoke at all. The second time I used cooking spray based on what I saw posted in some online forums and it smoked a lot... so I'll go back to the method Delonghi recommends in their manual.

Note that this product has been updated so that the grill is fully washable/dishwasher safe. The product packaging has been updated but the manual still says not to immerse it in water or put it in the dishwasher. I contacted the company just to make sure and they verified it can be washed in the dishwasher after removing the thermostat. It comes out very clean and cleanup is super easy overall. No mess on the countertop at all.

The cooking area is big enough for family cooking and the entire surface seems to heat evenly. After preheating the unit at max temperature for 5 minutes it is plenty hot and sears the meat nicely without sticking.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because the plastic ring the handle fits into was broken. Since it's largely cosmetic I just fixed it with Super Glue... but it is a very thin piece of plastic and it seems others have had this problem. Otherwise it is very well constructed and I'm hoping to get many years of use. The only reason why I didn't grill more is because I hate the cleanup but now I'll be grilling all the time!

I really like this grill. I live in an apartment where outdoor grilling isn't possible, so when I get the urge to grill a steak or lamb chops, out comes the DeLonghi. My Yang to this otherwise Yin grill is that it doesn't get hot hot hot, so a quick sear is 4-5 minutes instead of
3 minutes, as on a Smokey Joe type grill.

I was so excited to receive and begin cooking on my new indoor grill. It was lightweight and easy to set up. My disappointment came over the fact that the heat was not uniform over the entire grill. At the highest heat setting there were areas on the grill that were just warm.

Love this grill. Our family loves to bbq, but we can't do it year-round, even in California. This grill lets us do it indoors anytime. Love cooking veggies on it with no grease. Only downside is that you have to put it by an open window and turn on the range hood because the smell of grilled food really permeates the house, but that's no knock against the grill itself. Thumbs up!

I've had the DeLonghi for 20+ years, coming back to buy another one, as I am finally reading the instructions and I shouldn't have been using a scouring pad on it, I wore off the non-stick, however it still works just great. Teriyaki sauce will stick. I found it much better than my outdoor gas grill, it keeps foods moist better, and the food tastes and looks like it was cooked on an outdoor grill. A whole different animal than the clam type which cook on both sides at one time, those are for panni sandwiches, this is for meat and fish, it's the best.
