I got this item as a christmas gift 2012 and it lasted 4 months. It was used less than a dozen times. Last used about a month ago, and my Grandson was over this weekend and we decided to make waffles for him. The first one we made came out very dark, so we adjusted the temperature and made 2 more and on the 4th waffle made the back of the stand broke. Can no longer use it as it is very unsafe. So it cost us about $5. for everytime it was used. Would not recommend this unit.

I got this as a Christmas Present. it worked well for the first 3 months, but used it less than 1 dozen times. I haven't used it in about a month and we took it out to make waffles for my visiting Grandson. The first waffle seemed to cook to dark, but we lowered the temp and the next 2 seemed better. On the 4th waffle being made the back part of the stand broke. Now it is unsafe to use. I would not recommend this, We used it maybe 12 times and the cost was about $70. So it cost about $5. plus for each time we used it. Not Cool Waring. I have the warranty papers but not the box, so I guess I'm out the money paid and without a waffle maker.

my son bought this for me for my birthday. it lasted 45 days!!! it broke while i was cooking a waffle. the stem at the end where the wire comes under just came apart. the whole thing colasped. it worked fine up until then. very disappointed, for the price he paid.

I've purchased two of these, and both fell apart at just about the one year mark. I loved the quality of the waffles, absolutely great; the quality of the waffle maker, I would really hope that it would have lasted more than a year.

Great until it broke

I've had the product for 5 years. It was great until this morning, when it fell apart. It seems that the screws gave way and stripped out, causing the whole iron assembly to give way. I have been using it for Sunday morning waffles almost every weekend since we bought it.

We bought this the first time we saw it about 10 years ago and it still works like the first time we used it. The waffles are so light and crispy...taste better than any other waffles I have ever had. I have caught my grown kids trying to take it home with them cause they love it so much as well. It is such a treat for them when they come to visit and I take out the waffle maker...Best purchase I have ever made!!!

It seems that if you get one that works, it works pretty good. But we didn't get one that worked. So excited to have waffles Xmas morning but we ended up eating out instead. I read other reviews on other sites and it seems this unit has been discontinued. There is a problem with a screw and heating element burning out. Really wanted this to work but will go and spend the extra $ on tried and true KitchenAid.

We received this waffle maker as a gift and love the waffles it makes! However, one of the screws in the plastic hinge broke, and now it is unusable. The company offered to maybe fix it if we paid to ship it, but with the cost of shipping and the maybe we will fix it factor, we decided to just replace it with a similar model. However, we will keep the receipt and warranty information. I recommend the product because it makes excellent, amazing waffles, but keep your paperwork so when it breaks before the warranty is up, you can get a replacement.

Waring makes an amazing waffle iron. There's a reason that all of the hotels use these. Our first one lasted 9 years, being used 2x per month, on average. That means it was successfully used well over 200 times before it finally gave up the ghost. Like any product, there will occasionally be a warranty claim. So? Who makes a product that's 100% perfect every time? However, for as long as our waffle iron lasted, I can tell you that the waffles were perfect every time. I strongly recommend the Waring.

I've had this waffle maker for about 2 1/2 years, and my husband and I love it. The waffles are huge and fluffy and clean-up is a breeze, thanks to the nonstick coating. Other reviewers have said that theirs didn't last long, but I'm guessing that it's because they use it so often. I used mine once a month for the first year, then about once every three months for the past year and a half. The waffles still come out great every time!
