Lots of washing!

Was really excited about this and my attempt to use the panini for grilled burgers went really well. What didn't go well was the clean-up! The grease from the burgers wasn't easy to pour because nothing is removable in the panini maker and it's attached to an electric cord. The instructions say to just gently wipe with soap and water. Ha! I was scrubbing the darn thing senseless for 15 minutes trying to get it clean. Next time I buy something like this I'll take cleaning up into consideration. A removable, cleanable surface.

Worst Krups Product

We've probably used the Krups 312-75 between 30 to 50 times, then it stopped working. I called a service center referred by Krups and they said that it was not common for this to happen and said it was in the electronics and would cost $35 to replace Part # 0925481.
I immediately called Krups to find out whether or not the electronics had had engineering changes to correct the problem and they said that they were not aware of any.
Disturbed by Krups' indifference, I checked Amazon which had 121 product review. Of these there were 38 Five-Star review in contrast with 40 with only One-Star reviews. Most of the poor reviews claimed that the unit worked 'great' until it stopped working. One woman sent it in for repair and within two weeks, it stopped working. IMHO, that's why I purchase all my small appliances from Bed Bath & Beyond because whenever I've had similar problems, they refunded my money without a whimper.
