We only drink diet soda, but we were aware of the controversy about aspartame. There is one brand of soda that doesn't have aspartame, but we couldn't always find it. Now that we have this, it is easy! And the diet flavors are SOOOO GOOOOOOOOD. We can't always find the diet flavors locally because they sell out so fast, so I'm ordering them online now. If you can't drink regular soda, try this!

So, I get this thing for Christmas last year. Never seen such a thing and had no idea how it worked. Tried it once and thought it was a real "pig in a poke". So 10 months later I decide to drag it out of the closet and give it another try. Figured out what I was doing wrong and now I am a huge fan of this thing. Love it! Bought more bottles and more mix and I can't stop. I'm an addict now.

I love Diet Cola, and their version of diet is awful. It has such an odd taste to it. The zero version is slightly better, but still pretty odd flavor. And I'm not one that has to drink Coke or Pepsi, I don't mind the flavor of most diet varieties, even some store brands.

I really like my SodaStream. I use it every day. I was drinking too much pop and I wanted to cut back. It has allowed me to do that. Love the flavors. My favorite is Cherry Cola. I also have Cola, Orange Pineapple, Cranberry Raspberry and Root beer and I change off every day.

I have been using SodaStream for over 10 years, only back then it was call SodaClub. I bought mine at the San Diego County Fair when it was called the Del Mar Fair. This soda make is so great I bought a second one and now I have the original at one house and the new one at the other. I love the fact that the diet soda is sweetened with Splenda instead of aspertane (sp?) and that the non-diet uses real sugar (instead of high fructose corn syrup) but also uses Splenda so the calories are a lot less than store bought. Also the soda has about 1/3 the sodium (salt) than the store bought soda does too. So in a nut shell, if you are going to drink soda, SodaStream soda is healthier for you than store bought.

Some people have tried to justify still buying soda at the big box stores quoting prices differences but they aren't taking into account the cost when you factor in the (here in California) CA redemption value they charge for each bottle and the gas/fuel you use to drive to the store all the time to buy those cans and bottles. Not to mention the cost in the long run of your health with stuff like high blood pressure from all the salt and who knows what from all other artificial junk that they put in the store bought ones.

After about 2 months of shopping online and reading extensive reviews I finally decided even if I only broke even on the cost of soda it could be worth it if I didn't have to sacrifice flavor. I am tired of being a pack mule and the weekly trip to the curb with the plastic or aluminum was a pain for my husband mule. After using the Genesis for a month I became committed to this product. I went ahead and bought the extra Co2 cartridge. I go to my local dealer (Bed Bath and Beyond) use my 20% off and $5 off coupons (they take outdated too ; ) and I am done hauling for the month! No more catching the sales and dragging home cases!
I find the diet cola flavors comparable to supermarket brands and the diet gingerale a bit above that. The regular Orange is JUST like Fanta or Sunkist. I too adjust the amount of flavoring to a little less. I use it everyday with the evening cocktails and am 100% happy with results. Unless you are a soda snob I think you will be pleased.
FYI: I experimented with a few extra pumps of carbonation a couple of times and found it produced a bitter taste. After that I just followed directions and the flavor improved and the cylinder rendered 55 1 ltr bottles of soda.

LOVE this Soda Stream and the variety of flavors! First viewed this on the Dr. Oz show for a healthier alternative to the store bought cola and bottled water. Both fill the landfills with plastic & cans, while this does NOT! Everything is reusable and recycleable. Much Greener!! Also, you can choose ones without high furtose corn syrup or caffine. My salon uses this to make carbonated water and add a slice of cucumber, YUMMY! The great part is you are in control of the flavors and can enjoy finding your own! I like making my own water flavors. Everything is much less expensive and earth friendly, a win, win situation!

If you find the flavor essences too artificial, try adding less. If you just want a hint of flavor & these aren't doing it for you, the power of Sodastream is that you can add anything too it. Add your own juice. I love to add spicy V8 to plain carbonated soda for a fizzy blood mary mocktail. When adding your own juice, you may want to make your soda extra fizzy so it doesn't taste flat. If you want more intense flavor that comes in syrup, but don't like the store bought options, you can always make your own flavor infused simple syrup. We've made basil syrup, lavender syrup, fennel syrup - gourmet soda. Yum!

I dont know why there are any negative reviews on this product! I am not a big soda drinker but when I do I love the fact I can control how sweet I make it ( less of the syrup than recommended). If you like to host parties like we do, this is an amazing part of our bar set up..everyone loves choosing their own drink/mixer. Also, if you are at all a "green" person, you cant go wrong with this! The mixes and the carbonating container lasts forever. We absolutely love this product!

I like carbonated water for a lot of reasons, but these flavors are not doing if for me. I mostly wanted the hint of flavor like Talking rain, but the My Flavor Essences are just too artificial, not flavorful at all.The soda flavors, too, are just a little off - not the robust tasting, flavors of the first run sodas like they claim. I feel like I'm getting the 'off' or store brands from the cheap section of the soda lane at the grocery store. That was not what was promised, so I'm disappointed. I was really hoping to get the flavors to enjoy a soda every now and again, and sparking flavors all the time. Is anyone aware of other flavors or brands to buy and use that are flavorful and tasty for both sodas and sparkling waters?

We live on a Caribbean island that does not recycle. It was bothering me that so much plastic was ending up in landfill so my first indication for the SodaStream was more environmental. But then I also discovered the convenience of not lugging a multitude of cans/bottles and then the added joy of great flavors and the ability to create our own combinations. There are excellent drink and food recipes using the products on the Soda Stream website as a real bonus. We also have friends who prefer a little less carbonation in their sodas, and this also satisfied their needs. I have a large order of mixes shipped to us regularly as they are not currently available in the Caribbean. We hope that changes in the future as there are definite advantages for boaters, RVers and vacationers to have these options. My only downside living away from a source is that I bring my empty CO2 cylinders back in my checked luggage about 3 times a year for recharging.

This is an amazing product and an amazing value! If you are not "addicted" to the big 2 cola producers, the possibilities for flavors are endless. You can use Sno Cone syrup or any other flavorings to make carbonated drinks. The DIet Root Beer and Diet Orange are delicious. It's so eco-friendly and I no longer have to lug bottles into the house! Thank you SodaStream!

I received last Christmas as a gift and if you care about what goes into your body, you will appreciate it greatly. The soda stream mixes are better than the big two in a big way when it comes to health. You also have the option to add your own personal favorite natural flavors, (fresh lemon juice for one). Options are unlimited in flavor creation, just have fun making your own family favorites. My daughter also recarbonated a flat soda from one of the big two and it tasted like it was just opened.

Say what? Reviewers Bob and Judy who are trying to compare Sodastream to Walmart soda? Yeah, so even if you save a few pennies.... Walmart explains it. It's the total package that makes Sodastream such a fantastic offering....having not to pay the container redemption fees....having not to go to the market and lug multiple 12 or 24 packs of soda around the store and to home.....having to have a bunch of sticky soda cans sitting around the house in plastic bags.....or having to toss them away and fill landfills with countless tons of metal garbage..... The Sodastream is not only cost effective, it's a green solution comparatively speaking, it offers flavored sodas that taste good (but obviously are going to be different than 7up or Coke or Pepsi, etc) and it's convenient (because you'll always have soda available if you have a backup cartridge handy).

In addition, one thing people don't mention is that per serving, there is less sugar in the soda's you make with Sodastream. Second, you can make sodas with more or less carbonation that the average store bought soda, and you can add any amount of flavoring to the carbonated water such that your soda has even less sugar.....so much so that you can actually add minute amounts of flavorings normally used for other purposes (Mio normally used to flavor water, Snow Cone syrup, juices, etc), to create "flavored" waters.

So no....you don't buy a Sodastream simply because it's cheaper....even though it is when compared to most sodas. You buy Sodastream for the whole package ....cost, convenience, helps the environment, cleanness, health, flexibility (ability to create sodas with less or more carbonation, sodas with strong or weak flavor levels, or soda like tonic water for cocktails)......

Highly recommended....

I bought a Soda Stream >6 years ago. It has proven to be one of the best purchases I have made. I buy the Soda Stream Soda Mix flavors, but also purchase Torani and Monin syrups to make 'Italian sodas" . Everyone loves the variety and the taste. Buying additional water bottles ensures having a good supply on hand for get-togethers. A full bottle is always in the refrigerator for when I want a cold glass of carbonated water or soda; I often do not flavor the whole bottle, but let individuals flavor their glass. It is a great purchase for yourself, or a wonderful gift.

we drink a lot of coke, this stuff the call coke is very bad, some say they save money with sodastream a 2 L bottle of Wallmart soft drinks is 0.84 cents( Sodastream diet coke flavor $ 4.99 for 12 L or 6 2 L bottles is .83 cents for a 2 L bottle for the flavor then you have the price of the gas $35.00 for 60 L that is .58 cents a L or $1.16 for a 2 L bottle ( .84 + $1.16= $2.00 for a 2 L bottle OF Pop) plus you have the cost of the Sodastream ($99.00 or $129.00 or more)
We will keep packing bottles of pop home each week

We were both sceptical at first and once we tried it for the first time we both loved it!! we think it taste better then the soda we drank before.(Sorry pepsi!!) it is well worth the money and in the long run it will save you money from not buying regular soda anymore. we absolutley love it and very happy with it.

This was TOTALLY worth the money I shelled out for it. I would like to think of my household as soda connoisseurs - having consumed pretty much every carbonated concoction available, plus many more we mixed together to create out own. We LOVE this product. First, we started with the Energy type. It was wonderful just the way the directions recommended it to be mixed; but we also experimented around and decided that we like it double quantities. Just thinking of the cost of say a Rockstar - $2.50 a can - and we bought a container of Energy for $4.99 and it made us about 16 large cans. The thing is, the Energy was even BETTER than the Rockstar is. Next, we tried Cola - mmmmmMMMMmmmmmm it was delicious. We used a slight bit more for a sweeter Cola and the recommended amount for a less sweet version. We also added some grenadine syrup to make some Cherry Cokes.
I have now tried every flavor in the sample pack and have not yet been disappointed. I would HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone - whether health conscious or a soda freak - this is the product for you!
