Not designed to last

My kids each got these for Christmas 2011. By the next Christmas 2 of the 3 quit heating everywhere but the bottom of the blanket. The only positive thing was that we were able to send them back and 1 was replaced and 1 was repaired. They provided the postage so we didn't have to pay to send them back, but we had to find boxes. If they stop working again, I will send them back again. If yours quits during the warranty, call Sunbeam and they will send you information to send them back. Hang onto your receipt as it will make things easier! As expensive as these blankets are, I will make sure I get the full 5 years!

I received this blanket for Christmas, lasted about four weeks. Exchanged it for another @ BB&B in late January...now this one died. What's so difficult about making electric blankets? I had one over 40 years ago on the farm, handed down from my parents; worked great for years and years. Not the Sunbeam. This blanket is a joke. This is not BB&B's fault...it's a great store...just a poorly made blanket.

I bought this blanket and it would not even turn on.
This was my second try. My mother in law has an old electric blanket that works like new after 35 years! What gives? This is my second new blanket. Beware of blankets made in China?

Buyer Beware

Buyer Beware - regarding Sunbeam electric blankets! I am sick and tired of buying a new electric blanket every year! They are not cheap. No matter how good they seem to be working at first, THEY DO NOT LAST! I have purchased at least 3 in the past 5 years, and now, again this year, the blanket barely heats on one side, and not at all on the other. I WILL NOT BUY SUNBEAM AGAIN!

This queen size blanket worked great for 2 years, okay for another year and by the 4th year was just another blanket. It would not preheat by the 4th year and only the bottom half would make any heat after you are in bed. It has a 5 year warranty so I will be taking it back again. I had another one that only worked for 3 years and had to return. Bed Bath & Beyond is great for making returns, but for $150.00 it should last the warrantied 5 years. NOTE, keep your receipt so the return is much easier. I just always put mine on top of the mattress, then it is easy to find.

Anything using a "Sunbeam" electronic control, avoid like the plague. Their instruction book in not specific to the item you bought. Great to have it in Spanish, I'm certain it's as useless there as it is in English. DOES NOT WORK.

Don't ever buy a Sunbeam electric blanket. Mine only lasted three months. I noticed one of the reviews said hers only lasted a year. The other people who had raving reviews, how long have you had yours? See how you feel a few months to a year when it stops working. Good luck, you'll need it.

I bought this blanket in 2011 and used all winter long. Loved it. Heated great and was very soft. Put it away for the summer 2012. Broke out the blanket last week and it barely heats at all. So unhappy because I loved this electric blanket.
Going to try and return and get a replacement.

Best Purchase Ever!

OMG, this is the BEST Electric blanket I have ever bought! I bought a Queen size, but it is very large & could easily fit a King size bed! It is very soft & cuddly, but the best part for me is...it has 10 settings & gets very warm just on 5....WOW! It was truely the best money I have ever spent on an electric blanket! The price for a queen size was $149.99, but if you have a 20% off coupon like I did, it takes off $30, so you end up paying $130.00 out the door! I love this blanket so much....thank you Sunbeam for making a blanket of this quality....AMAZING! I want to buy another 1 just so I will have it when this 1 should should wear out....I give it 10 stars!

LOVE this incredibly soft electric blanket! The display is easy to see at night and the blanket gets really warm. I bought a twin sized blanket for my full sized bed mainly because it was less expensive, and it fits right to the edge width-wise and is perfect in length. My only complaint is that they only had white available in stores and I've had trouble keeping my brown dog and his hair off of it.
