I've been using these towels for about three years now and I have not encountered any of the problems that are complained about in here.
I like the entire line and will continue using it.

Roayl Velvet Egyptian towels

Royal Velvet Egyptian towels. Worst towels ever. After one year, they still shed. They are not absorbent, and they leave my body full of lint, even the underarms. Can't even use them as cleaning rags, as they lint so badly. Not to mention the lint they leave on other towels if you happen to wash them together.

I bought the towels because they felt so soft.
But after I wanted to dry myself with the towel it felt
horrible, the towel was soaking wet and icy cold and my body was still wet. I can not return them, because I washed them before I used them. Now they just
sit in my cabinet and are useless.

No better than Walmart brand

Although I have not had the same problems as some of the other reviewers, I would not buy these again. We registered for and received towels, wash cloths, hand towels, and a bath sheet folr our wedding. There are some pulls, but we have had them for a little while and that is partially expected. Still, after the first washing they lost their softness and began to thin a bit even though I am very meticulous when laundering them. For less money the same quality towels may be purchased at Walmart where you expect them to wear out fairly quickly.

Avoid

I feel horrible that our friends spent good money on these towels when they purchased them from our registry. My biggest disappointment is that after just three washings, the bath towels began to pull, leaving threads hanging here and there all over. After a couple more washings, the hand towels followed suit. They look really old, and we've only been using them for six months. As others have stated, they aren't the most absorbent towels - even after multiple times in the washing machine. I would never recommend this brand. A definite waste of money.

These towels are so soft and comfy. Unfortunately that's the only part about them that we like. They simply do not dry. After drying my body, the towel is soaking wet and I am still damp. I really hope I can return these.

These towels are terrible

I rarely share my opinions online, but feel that these towels merited a break in my silence! These towels do not dry your body. If you are like me, you purchased the towels to dry your body. These towels DO NOT WORK. Not sure if they were mislabeled. This is not typical of anything made of 100% cotton. I have even given them a couple of washes to see if it was just a water- resistent finish. I decided to rate this online when I asked my husband if he noticed anything weird with the new towels. He said, "Yeah, they don't dry!" OK, so I am not crazy! Confirmed by the other reviews. Thanks for confirming my sanity, folks.

We purchased 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels, and 2 washclothes. Upon first impression, I noticed that these towels to not dry easily. You have to run the towel over your skin multiple times, even flipping ot over to use the dry side.
After a few weeks, I noticed that the washclothes were discoloring. One of them had been used with Bath & Body Works bodywash, and the other had been used with Dial soap - neither of which contain any chemical that would case a bleaching effect.
Confused, I washed my face with Dial soap and one of the hand towels, drying my face with one of the bath towels. Well, I must not have rinse all of the soap off my face, because now both the hand towel and bath towel are discolored! It looks like I spilled bleach on all 4.
I am incredibly unhappy with these and returning the entire set!

I've had these towels for 4 months now! Yes 4 months...I've given them a fair chance. They just don't cut it. I've bought much cheaper towels that have been much better. I've never used fabric softener, yet they STILL leave us feeling damp. Pick something else, anything else...

I bought these for our house because of the low price, and were hoping they would turn out to be good towels. I washed the towels once (with fabric softener) and the towels were not very absorbent and left lint on skin. I washed another time (with fabric softener), and the same thing happened but was less noticable. I washed the towels a 3rd time, this time without fabric softener, and they are perfect! they are lightweight so they don't take long to dry on the rack. they are just the right amount of thickness and even without fabric softener they are plenty soft. The reason people are complaining about non-absorbancy or lint left behind is because you need to wash at least three times before use and you can't use fabric softener. the softener leaves a film on the towel and i guess effects certain towels' absorbancy more than others. i never write reviews, but I wanted people to know you don't have to spend a lot for quality towels--these are great for the price!!

Disappointed with Towels

My girlfriend convinced me I needed to abandon my low-end big-box brand towels for something nicer from BB&B. Bought the 'Egyptian Elegance' bath sheets in a moss green sort of color, wash-cloths as well. They are a good size and soft but after laundering and use a few times I'm disappointed. The towels are not very absorbant at all, leaving you with a 'still wet' feeling that isn't at all enjoyable in the humid South especially, and continue to leave lint on me, mostly on my unshaven face in the morning... The wash-cloths are quite soft, too soft for me and i miss the 'fresh-scrubbed' stimulation feeling of my cheap ones! I think these will be going back to BB&B...

My new husband and I picked these out for our wedding registry. When in the store we loved the softness of the towel. We figured they were a more expensive priced item of the selection so they must be good towels. 1st I would like to point out that after receiving all of our towels they all didnt match in color. Some where named chocolate and others autumn brown chocolate on the label. They were clearly not the same color however I went back to my local BB&B and they exchanged them and I was able to match the towels to the best of my availabity. Now that we've been using these towels and have washed them twice we hope to return the set today.
Here are the negatives to these towels:
They fill up the lent tray in the dryer (still after 2 washes)
They leave specks of lent behind after showering. We especially noticed this from washing our face with the hand towels.
They DO NOT dry! They leave you still wet after patting yourself down.
And finally, after 2 times in the laundry the loops have started to pull and we now have long threads hanging.
The only positive is that they are super soft.
Hope this helps all the future buyers out there. These towels are horrible!

We don't purchase towels very often, so I was excited to get a new set. However, I was really shocked to see that the "Egyptian Cotton" towels are made in Pakistan--never would have bought them if I had looked carefully at the label. Then my husband and I noticed that there are thin spots throughout the bath towels. Finally, they are not absorbent. Perhaps these problems will be alleviated when they are washed and dried, but this is just a heads-up for other buyers.

I have oredered 4 of there towels and have had them for awhile. Overall, they are pretty durable and don't lint up in the laundry. The only thing that I don't like is that the color descriptions don't match the actual color of the towels.

I'm not sure what the big problem is. I purchased 4 of these towels a few months ago - almost 6 - and they are still holding up great! No discoloration, no lint left on your body after use, and no water streaking on you - it really does the job. I'm buying more!

I used a bath sheet maybe 3 times and it had huge "bleach" spots all over it.
Reviews from other towels say people had to change their bath products and face washes, etc. I'm not doing that. Far easier to return these and try different towels.

Terrible towels

I created this account to write this review so that other consumers did not waste their money buying these towels.
I am pretty easily satisfied with most domestic purchases. However, the Royal Velvet Egyptian towels have been so poor that I will be returning all of them to BB&B. I purchased two towels and one bath mat to start. After the first wash, one towel turned orange in parts and got stringly. The other towel got stringy but remained the same color. I thought perhaps that one towel had gotten accidentally bleached. So I went and bought another towel.
After several more washings, both of the remaining two towels began having orange areas on them. I decided to buy one more towel and keep it for my use only (and be very mindful of when I washed it). Sure enough, after only minimal use by me, within a few washings, the last towel began having orange spots too.
I have no explanation for this now, other than the towel quality itself (i.e. the last towel was not bleached, not exposed to acne products or make-up, and barely used). As such, I am going to bring all four towels to BB&B in hopes of getting store credit to purchase other, hopefully higher quality, towels.

I searched BBB for Royal Velvet items and was so happy when my search brought up these towels. I purchased $100 worth of them. When they arrived I was stunned at the quality - in a bad way. They aren't bad towels, but if you are buying Royal Velvet towels they are! These are NOTHING like Royal Velvet towels. No wonder they have such poor reviews here. I am taking the whole lot of them back to my local store. What a waste of money! `

I received the bath towel and washcloth as a bridal shower present. They center of the towel disintegrated almost after one wash. The yarn looked pulled apart. I would have taken them back but had moved and couldn't find the receipt. Don't buy them.

I was thrilled to be replacing my old set of bath towels for these beautiful Grape color Egyptian Cotton towels. I bought a bunch of the towels, hand towels and wash cloths with a gift card. They looked so pretty in my bathroom...then I washed them. OMG! I thought Egyptian Cotton was a quality towel. These towels do not absorb water at all. They are getting stringy after one washing. I am afraid to use them. I want a refund. This is not what I thought I was buying.
