Best Comforter EVER!

I have had the queen size of this comforter for 7 years. We just switched to a king sized bed last year and I knew this was the only comforter for me. I first bought this comforter as a college student which was a BIG purchase on my budget at the time so I did extensive research on down comforters. With down, 500-600 fill power is for a year round comforter and the lighter the weight (in ounces), the higher the quality. To the people complaining about the lack of fluff or down in this comforter, it's not HOW much down is in your comforter that makes it quality. This is an excellent comforter for year round comfort. If you're looking for heavier or more down in your comforter you may be unable to use your comforter in the summer time or there may be less down in the product. In the winter on BITTER BITTER nights we SOMETIMES add a quilt but very rarely and in the summer we use this comforter with a sheet and it's PERFECT.
For someone looking for a quality comforter to last through the years look no further. Yes, I have had a few feathers (maybe 1 or 2 a year) slip out of my comforter - but can anybody honsetly say that they have a down or feather product that has NEVER lost any feathers? I can't.
To those complaining about the comforter being mishapen after washing/drying - read the care tag...it's dryclean only as are all down products.

not a good value

My last review on bbb was censored by the review moderator (no slang or offensive language was used), I dare bbb to publish this review or be accused for unfairly picking reviews.
I bought one of these at around $250 for a full size bed. There was barely any down in it. I took it back and got a refund (with some grief from the manager).
I went across the street to a large retailer and bought a Much Better one with Lots of Down in it (I think that's why they call it a DOWN Comforter?).
My final price was $118 including 8.5% CA sales tax, and difference of over 50% less for a much better comforter.
Don't waste you money on this on.

Fantastic Down Comforter

I have an unusually cold room in the back of my apartment and this comforter really does the trick. I immediately covered it in a duvet cover and try to continually fluff it so the loft is always high, but when I climb into bed I am immediately satisfied by how warm I am. I am in no way too warm, just so comfortable. The only problem is that I do not want to get out of bed. I have had this comforter for a couple of months and no feathers have come out. Sorry for anybody else's misfortune, but I love this comforter!

Warm, despite losing the Fluff

I bought this for myself 4 years ago. I still sleep with it every night, no matter the season. It is very warm, and I often wake up with it kicked off, but it never leaves my bed. As for all of the feather comments, I haven't experienced the same. I must say though, after a couple washes, with inconsistent drying (you try washing a queen comforter in dorm washer/dryers, it'd usually for for 2hrs plus in the dryer!) it has lost a LOT of fluff in the top couple of rows of baffle boxes. The top of my comforter is very flat (>1inch loft), while the bottom still remains very fluffy(6-8 inch loft). I think this could also be attributed to lying on top of the comforter often(which, I found out after, you are never supposed to do with a down comforter)! I'm in the market for a new comforter now, and will not buy this one again, simply because the price does not match the quality. Overall, not a bad purchase, but there are better products for the price.

Do not purchase this comforter unless you want your entire bedroom filled with tiny feathers. This product is below consumer standards and is being returned immediately!

I don’t know about feathers flying everywhere (other reviews) because I didn’t have the chance to put it on my bed…As soon as I got this comforter out of the bag, my lips and the roof of my mouth got numb and burned. I have never had this type of reaction to anything before. I tried airing it out outside in the sun multiple days in a row and my reaction got somewhat better but not enough to warrant being exposed to it for 8 hours a night. I am wondering if this is another example of a product 'made in China' (which is says it is) that contains some toxic chemical waste? And where the manufacturer, corporation, and factory in China do not care about poisoning the public? I am looking for something made in the USA.

generally i have loved items I bought at BBB, but this one was a big fail. feathers everywhere within a week, i have feathers on my shirt, on my hair, and i start to sneeze in the morning when i wake up, not to mention having to clean floor in my room daily... this is a real pain. I am returning this. Consider the cost of this down comforter isn't even cheap at all, don't waste your money on this.

Let Down

Unlike other reviewers, I haven't had so much of a problem with down escaping as I have with down "shifting". When I purchased this comforter, it appeared to have a baffle box design...i.e. the feathers in each "box" would stay in each box. After a few months of use, I noticed that the feathers in the upper portion were shifting to the lower portion. Upon closer inspection, it seems that the "boxes" have openings between them. I've tried turning the comforter the other way on the bed but cannot seem to get the feathers to redistribute. End result? Incredibly lumpy bed. Save your money.

Waste of Money

I bought this comforter about a year ago. It has lost almost all of its stuffing and is flat as a pancake (not that it started out much thicker). The amount of down that has been lost is to an extent where there are portions of the comforter that, when laid flat and "fluffed" up, actually have no down between the two pieces of fabric. I am beyond disappointed, especially with what we paid for this item.

I just wanted to comment on this comforter since everyone else has given it negative reviews. I have had this comforter for about 5 years and I have never had issues with it. This really is an all season comforter - it is like sleeping in a cloud when you're all cuddled up in it. I also have a duvet cover on mine and have never had any issues with down escaping. Great value for the money too. I just upgraded to a king bed this weekend and I can't wait to get this in the king size!

Oh My Feathers!

I was looking for an allergy free down comforter, thought this one would be great! Despite the reviews about feathers being everywhere, I bought it anyway thinking mine would somehow be different. The first few nights, no feathers. Next couple nights there were a few feathers here and there, thinking this was normal, I ignored it. Two weeks into it I found a few feathers on my clothes, on my dog, on my husband...still holding out hoping it would stop. Washed it...holy feathers! The lint catcher was full of them! I'm afraid it's going to lose all the fluff, which by the way isn't nearly as fluffy as I thought it would be. It's comfortable, but I've had better less expensive ones. I believe this is going back. Also, being the "year round warmth" I actually find it too hot? Odd, because I love sleeping in a cold room.

I too am having significant problems with down escaping and getting all over the room: it's in the air, my hair, up my nose, it's awful. This is my first experience with down and I think I might return it and go back to synthetic.

Really great down comforter

I've had this comforter for about 6 years now and have been very pleased with it. The "year round" title fits it perfectly. I even use this during the summer except for the hottest of days. I have not had a problem with loose down at all. Every once in awhile when changing the cover I will notice a few specs of down, but that's few and far between. We always use it with a duvet cover so we don't wash the actual comforter that much, but when we do it can be machine washed and dried. I recommend using a cotton or other light weight duvet cover on the comforter so you don't weigh down the comforter and it will stay soft and fluffy.

Really Unacceptable

Bought this in January. Gets two stars because it is comfortable and pretty versatile through three seasons so far. However, the amount of feathers escaping this thing is totally unacceptable. inside the duvet cover, a few would escape nightly. Small ones, just enough to drive you crazy and get in your nose, mouth, etc. But if you have to change the duvet to wash it or for any reason, it's like a feather bomb went off. Seriously. It's horrible. Really, really surprised and disappointed. Bought another, much more expensive one, in the hope it works out better. I trust it will. In the meantime I guess I'll bring in a cleaning crew to absorb the residual effects of the goose down chaos in my bedroom. C'mon, BBB, you can do better.

DISAPPOINTED

I wanted a very fuffy cuddly comforter for my king size bed. Felt all in the store and decided that this DOWN would be just what I wanted {they have display in front of the bags for you to feel} Didn't think anything about the limited space between where the display was so it really felt like it was really cuddly. WRONG... got home put it on the bed and it was flat as a pancake. I ruffled it up trying to make it fluffy, I left it on the bed for a few days in hopes it would let loose. I am returning it ASAP. It certainly is not worth the price. In fact the one that I had purchased at a store a couple of years ago got damaged and I wanted to go with the DOWN this time. Gosh, the one I had cost $50 was like sleeping in a cloud
