Lux on a small budget

These towels are absolutely amazing! The color is well-maintained throughout washings and the softness is out of this world! Oh, and super-absorbent. Yeah...totally awesome towels. Just as another reviewer remarked, they do shed lint after the first wash and at first (and a little on second) use, but after that completely lint-free. Well worth the price!!!

I agree word for word with Emily25. They are not the most absorbent, but the thickness & softness compensates. I've had mine for over a year & they haven't faded & are still as soft as when I bought them.

Have had these towels for over 2 years and never had a problem with them. Never had any unravel or fray. They are used daily and still look new. Best towels ever!!!

Smells bad

The smell is bad. Smell is sour. Smell stays on your body when your drying off from your shower. Doesn't go away no matter what you do and how many times you wash them. Take them off the market.

Great towel for the price

I got these three months ago because they're soft and I loved the very dark gray color. For the first few washes, I added a cup a white vinegar to set the color, and I never use fabric softener. At first, they were pretty linty, but given how soft and lofty they are, that made sense. Now they're fine. They aren't the world's most absorbent towel, but in my experience, that's the price you pay for soft towels. And they sure are soft! Thick and soft and big. Very luxurious towels, especially for the price!

My husband and I bought these towels about a year ago. We've loved them. The color has stayed beautiful, they're soft, plush, and absorbent.

I received these towels as a wedding gift and loved the look and feel of them. Unfortunately, the towels started to unravel within days of use before I even washed them. Strings started separating around the tags on two or three towels. I had to return them. This was one of two sets of BBB towels I had to return because they were so cheaply made. I have given up on buying towels from this store.

These towels suck

I had these bought for me off my wedding registry and they looked great in the store. After about 2 months of gentle use they started to fall apart. First the threads started coming out, then full out holes would appear at the seam. Highly disappointed since these weren't cheap. I registered for two different colors and both have the same problem.

I am surprised that there is still a towel left! Each time I wash these towels there is so much lint in the washer that I have to wipe it down. You don't get what you pay for!
I would not purchase this brand again.

very unhappy

This towel is a failure on so many levels:
It is not thirsty so after using it I feel like I need another towel to dry off. It sheds all over me and the floor. It is a skimpy bath sheet inches narrower and even shorter than all of the others in my closet. The only thing going for it is the color - a beautiful brown. It is definitely going back.

I love these towels

I am shocked that other people have had issues with these towels! We received a set of Honeydew and Sandstone towels over a year and a half ago (bridal shower) and have used them every day since and had no issues with color bloches, pulls or anything else... Perhaps some of the band shrinkage mentioned by others, but not nearly as noticably as with other towels we have...
We always wash our towels alone with Tide detergent and tumble dry on low with NO fabric softener! (never use FS on towels - it steals their absorbency) I dont know what other reviewers are doing, but it seems that even in our less-than-stellar apartment building washer machines, this method works... Maybe different areas of the country have different water and thats the difference?
Regardless, these were recommened to me by a friend who'd gotten married a year earlier than I did and I've since recommended them to many others and I'd continue to recommend these towels to anyone who asked.

Great but fade

I never had the loose loops or blotches of yellow or white, just some fading but not bunching up or anything like that, the white ones remain its color, the rose has faded some but doesn't look terrible and I have a couple of the lighter blue which when fades still remains a pretty color.

Update on My Jan. 12 2012 Review - Now They Fade

In my earlier review of these towels, which I bought in ginger, I mentioned the excessive lint and the towel that developed a large hole on the second washing. Now, after 6-8 weeks, one towel is developing the yellowish, bleached-out spots mentioned by other reviewers. I have carefully followed the care instructions, washing in cold water with the detergent recommended for my new low-volume washer. Sure, I use skin care products, but not until after I wash and dry my skin with soap and water. Do think twice about buying these, especially in the intense colors. Wish someone else made the shade I bought.

Incredibly soft AND absorbent

I am very surprised at all of the negative reviews for these towels, which makes me think, as another reviewer pointed out, that the people writing the negative reviews don't have a handle on proper laundering and fabric care. I have had two sets of these for over a year and they remain incredibly soft, fluffy, absorbent and just really luxurious, use after use and wash after wash. I bought two sets - in honeydew and a bright green (which I think have been discontinued). I have had a little trouble with the bright green towels and lint, but that's true for any highly pigmented towels I have ever purchased (even very expensive ones). You just have to wash them as a load separately, so no lint gets on your other laundry. And, use cold water and enough, but not too much detergent, and you'll prevent fading. It's always a good idea to wash your towels once or twice before using them anyway, which will help eliminate the lint problem. Absolutely no fading trouble at all with either color and no "yellow blotches" as other reviewers have complained about. Those blotches sound suspiciously like bleach or an acne/anti-aging product that got on the towels. You really do have to treat your colored towels just as you would any of your fabrics. They also dry thoroughly after use, but our bathroom is pretty well ventilated. i really love these towels and, although they come in a lot of colors, I wish there were some even more vibrant color choices. These are really some of the nicest quality and longest lasting towels I have ever owned. If you care for them properly, they shouldn't disappoint you at all.

Yellow splotches after weeks of washing

I purchased a beige set of these towels July 2011 for my master bath, and within 2 months I noticed yellowish splotches on the hand and bath towels. I exchanged them, and am waiting to see what happens with these and the rest of the set. My son bought a green set for his apartment around the same time and experienced the same problem. He had to return the whole set and bought more in the same color only to have it happen again. He returned them again and exchanged them for white and so far so good. Good thing I kept my receipt!
I will not buy these again. To BB&B's credit, they did not give me any problems with the exchange.
Neither myself or my son did not use any bleach.

PRETTY, BUT WORST TOWELS I EVER BOUGHT

I bought these towels in ginger to go with my new master bath. No other towels seemed to come in this shade. I washed them before using, according to the care instructions, and got an astounding amount of lint, overflowing the lint trap in my dryer. The second time I washed them, I stopped the dryer halfway through to empty the filter, and still got enormous amounts of lint both at the mid-way point and at the end of the cycle. There was still plenty of lint left on the towels to shed all over the bathroom floor whenever we use them. Perhaps this is why one towel already has a hole in it after only two washings. The lint is because they are falling apart. I am so disgusted and disappointed. After a similar bad experience with my new sheets, also falling apart, I doubt I will ever buy linens at BBB again. I am 65 and never saw such inferior towels and sheets in my life, and not cheap, either.

Horrible from Pakistan

When I first bought these towels I thought they were beautiful. They are bright green and were exactly the color I was looking for. I also bought 2 bath mats. After only three washes they had strange yellow faded splotches. I bought black towels elsewhere at the same time. If it was any products I was using, then I would think that the black towels would have faded as well. The black towels do not have any splotches at all. Another problem is that the bindings and decorative areas in the towel shrinks causing the towels to bunch
up. The bath mats roll up around the edges because the bindings shrunk and the rest of the fabric didn't. I always dry them on a low setting. The black towels don't have this problem. I wish I could show pictures. The hand towels and washcloths also do this. It looks terrible. I love the color, I love how they were when I first bought them, I just wish they would have stayed that way. In looking at the label I found they were made in Pakistan, and feel that the quality control is very poor. I gave it 1 star because it wouldn't take the review otherwise. I didn't want to give them any stars.

I bought these towels about 18 months ago in dark brown and mineral and love them! The color and quality is still like new. They laundry very nicely and extremely soft! I have top of the line Samsung washer and dryer...perhaps that's why they still look like new. I've enjoyed them so much I'm on my way to buy some new towels in a different color.

Love, Love these towels! So soft, luxurious, fluffy, beautiful, many color choices! They stay that way after many washings, if you don't dry too hot & too long. BUT, they FADE! Washed carefully (not hot), NO acne or antiaging products, only mild hand soap & no bleach in the house! I have tan, expresso, light green, blues too. But can't be used, just folded/rolled up to look pretty, can only use white. Wish they could improve this color thing, otherwise buy the WHITE ones! : )
