Excellent appliance

I highly recommend this appliance! This food processor is more expensive, but in my opinion,is well worth the price. So many machines have gone to a lighter weight but this machine is surprisingly heavy and sturdy. It handles large jobs very well. The 3 different sized bowls are so wonderful and so easy to clean that I don't mind using it for the little jobs too!!

Major disappointment!

After years of using Cuisinart food processors with mixed results, we tried upgrading (in total cup capacity, power, flexible slicing options) to Cuisinart's FP-14DC (die cast) from our worn Cuisinart DLC-2007N. This unit was a significant investment for our family. As we make a majority of all our meals for everyone in our household, food safety and time savings are extremely important. Unfortunately, we found several flaws with the Cuisinart FP-14DC.
1. The Cuisinart bowl and lid are not BPA-free, which risk leaching BPA into the food we prepare for our children and ourselves.
2. The Cuisinart spring loaded/gasketed lid does not always close fully even with the safety is engaged which can spatter food outward into the sub bowls and bowl lip that should otherwise stay completely on the inside of the unit.
3. There is a major design flaw with the Cuisinart lid where food also gets trapped in the spring loaded / gasket of the lid and is nearly impossible to remove.
This is not our first Cuisinart food processor, but this latest lid design is horrible.
We tried scrubbing the unit for longs periods of time with toothbrushes, thin hose cleaners, and jets of water, - to no avail. The food trapped between the gasket side, top-underside, or tight contoured corners stays behind and ends up causing mold growth and further makes the Cuisinart unit unsafe for food prep in our opinion, not to mention a major time waster.
We returned the Cuisinart to BBB today.
We were pleasantly surprised that Breville BFP800XL addressed all of the flaws found in the Cuisinart unit.
The Breville provides;
*PBA-free bowl and parts
*The lid closes completely and tightly so that food will not splatter if the feed shoot is also covered as directed
*The lid cleans EASILY and QUICKLY without wasting excess water, effort, or time.
Bonus for us are the additional blade options, spatula, and cleaning brush that Breville thoughtfully included in the kit.
We returned the Cuisinart FP-14DC and replaced it with the Breville Sous Chef 800XL.
This unit is our second Breville product and we could not be happier with the product so far.

I love my cuisinart Elite Food processor. I woauldn't trade it for any other Food processor. I have made bread salads soups, You name it I have done it. I will never regret in investing in it. I love the three bowls and everything that comes with it. If you do alot in the kitchen & love to cook and bake, you will love this one.

Quiet and effective power

I made a cheesecake, zuccini cake, and shredded and sliced veggies for a breakfast casserole. The machine is VERY quiet but powerful, which is a nice feature for homes with an open floorplan. This made cooking/baking prep time so much faster, especially now that the feed tube is larger and there are multiple work bowls. The power is amazing! I will use this processor all the time, unlike a previous processor made by another manufacturer.

Great

This Cuisinart processor is great for the most part, not without its flaws though. For instance, while shredding cheese, it has to be an even cube and lightly frozen, otherwise it won't shred and the lid pops up as a safety measure I assume. I find this processor to be of big improvement over the previous models. Overall this processor is a great helper in my kitchen.

this processor improved almost every single issue you may have ever had with the old model of cuisinart.
they are the original food processor; they are the best; yet they had flaws; and finally they fixed many of our concerns; larger work bowls; rubber seal to make it leak proof; locking blades so you can pour and not have the blade fall out; the nesting bowls are another great feature; and the adjustable slicing blade another great idea 1 blade tha does the task of what originally required individual discs now there is one single adjustable cutting disc. the bowls have pouring spouts the base is sealed with buttons that appear to be protected from any flour or sugar you may spill. all in all this is worth every penny and nothing else made today can beat this food processor
