Great Can Opener

I have a problem with my arm and hand in operating a regular or hand can opener. Besides that, we do not have a lot of electrical sockets and counter space, so this can opener is perfect for our household. As long as you follow the simple instructions on the can opener and instruction paper included, you should not have any problems with this can opener. It is the best can opener I have ever used and have been using it for about 10 years,

GOOD IDEA, BAD PRODUCT

This product worked great for the first few uses, what they dont tell you is if the batteries run out or get slower during the process you are not able to get the can opener off the can which now requires you to throw the whole product away. Too dangerous to try to get the csn off the opener.

We received this as a gift a few years ago. We just got around to trying this this year and we put the batteries in and couldn't figure out how to use it even with the instructions written on the label underneath. But once we got it working it only worked for about 2 cans. The next can it got stuck on the can and we couldn't remove it without a lot of work and prying. We didn't want to waste the can of food so we kept prying it and jiggling it to get it unstuck. What a waste of money! I will NOT be buying anymore of these can openers.

I bought my One Touch two years ago and it's still going strong. I have Carpal Tunnel syndrome and arthritis in my hands. I don't know what I'd do without this can opener! It works well on most cans, but can have a problem with the larger cans if you have weak batteries in it. For best use keep batteries current. If it gets stuck there's a little button on the bottom at the end you can push to help it go through it's cycle and release the can and top. Wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! Love, Love, Love it!!!!!

About to order our second one! The first one lasted many years. So easy to use. Definitely have to have good working batteries. Once the batteries get weak the opener doesn't work as well. Best thing.......not another appliance on the countertop! Fits easily in a drawer!

I bought one about 4 or 5 years ago and loved it. It finally died so I ordered another one. The design on this one had changed somewhat and from the first time I used it it did not work well. After about 3 months or trying different batteries it finally got stuck on a can and I could not get it off. I had to throw the can and the opener away. Don't know why they changed the design.

Best can opener ever!

This is the best can opener I have ever had. I've had it for about 3 or 4 years. No electric or manual opener has ever been this easy and worked so well. The reason my rating is not 5 stars is that as the battery wears out, the opener may "die" on you before the lid is entirely off. However, I found the best way to handle this is to use any thin object to push in the sensor on the underside right next to the blade. This is a manual way of completing the job and releasing the opener from the can. At first you have to learn how to place the opener on the can so that the blade is in the correct position and then push down on the button just long enough for the opener to "catch" and to start moving by itself. None of this is as hard as it sounds .It just took me a couple of tries to hook it onto the can properly and to learn to push the button lightly and as soon as it feels llike it's moving by itself, just let it go.Once this happens you can let it be and go on to getting other ingredients together. It will stop by itself and sit there 'til you're ready to use the ingredient in the can. I think it takes getting used to after using those other openers for so many years. I've had it for several years and I believe I've only had to change the batteries once or maybe twice. Anyone who takes the time to work this properly (comes with directions) will never go back to the other types of openers.

Bought one for my daughter for Christmas and hers lasted less than ninety days. Locked onto a can and couldn't get off. Even when changed batteries. I had mine for about 6 months. Just yesterday mine locked onto a can, changed batteries and everything couldn't get it off. Had to throw both the can and the can opener away. This one a no go.

I was so impressed, at first, that I bought several as a holiday gifts. Within six months, one I bought for a good friend as well as my own stopped working. What a waste of money. If you plan to use it occasionally, say once a week, you should be ok. But if you want to use it regularly, buy something else.

This item worked well far a while, then I began having problems with getting it to disconnect from the Can. When the batteries go low, it becomes a real headache. It locks on the can then becomes difficult to get off. Please choose another brand.

I've had my one touch since 2006 and LOVED it, it finally died this week most likely from people forcing it to finish the job when batteries were low. I am so very happy they are still available to buy, I may have to order a few just in case they are ever discontinued!!

I have had my one touch since 2006! It's now 2010 and I am changing the batteries only. It works perfectly with any size can! It's small, conpact, runs on batteries so it doesn't need to be plugged in or on the counter. It does exactly what it's supposed to!

The product works very well ... with one exception ... the edges of the can are very sharp. I cut myself handling the can because I did not know that the edges would be sharp. On my electric can opener, it does not leave sharp edges on the tops or cans ... be careful when you use this product.

I love this product! It is really easy to use and works on any size can, unlike my old electric opener. I would caution you, however, to replace the batteries when they start to show signs of losing power -- my first one ran out of battery power half way through opening a can. We had to pry it off of the can and ruined it in the process. I went right out and bought another!
