This bed is better than a Sleep Number Bed!

Do not pay much attention to the negitive reviews. I have been sleeping on my Queen size 22 inch high AreoBed for 3 years and need to tell you that it is more comfortable than my friends Sleep Number Bed, which I find to be a hassle cheeply made and actually not nearly as comfortable as my AreoBed. I will be honest though because my bed is up and used nightly I do have a 1 inch memory foam topper on it, but only because when it is cold the bed seems to hold a chill but the topper takes care of that problem and it also helps with the look of the bed when it is made because all sheets seem to have very deeppocked fitted sheets, I do wish Areo bed whould come up with a frame/ pedistal for their beds for people like me who use it all the time...and I'm not a lightweight. So this bed is as sturdy as it is comfortable. I highly recommend this product!

Purchased 20 inch raised twin areo bed. Within a couple months of use only a couple times for a day or two the mattress developed a busted baffled (large bulge in middle of bed), Colman sent a replacement bed. Again the replacement warranty bed developed the same problem within a couple of months only used twiced. Both beds developed the same problem. Online shows others with the same issue. Do not buy!!!!!!

Best Air Mattress

I have been using the queen-sized AeroBed for over four years, on and off. Took it to our vacation home and our company have loved it because it is so comfortable. Best purchase ever. I have left it inflated for two years and can not believe how it has held it shape and lasted so well for so long. Did put padded mattress pad on it under the sheets. Slept very well, much better than on any other blow-up mattress and even some beds. Inflates and deflates with the touch of a button. I will be purchasing another one to keep on hand for company.

Big Disappointment

Usually you get what you pay for so I decided to pay more and get a bed I could rely on. Only needed this for the occasional guest but I wanted them to be comfortable and thought a bed at this price would last. After only three uses this bed was leaking air. My husband found the leak on a seam and tried to repair it per instructions but no luck. Such a waste to throw away something that looks new not to mention the money wasted. Won't take a chance on this brand again.

Great mattress!

I got this mattress because I just moved into an apartment, and aside from the cost of a new bed, I wanted something more temporary. Box springs and mattresses are such a pain to move, and I wanted to be sure that I will be in this new place for a good amount of time before I invest.
Honestly, I bought a down alternative mattress pad for this air mattress off of Amazon and this bed is so comfortable that I haven't even thought of replacing it even though I can afford to! Because it is double high, it also helps feel like a normal bed. As far as what other reviewers said about it not holding air- I have not had this problem in the least! So easy and quick to inflate.
I highly recommend this!

In the past we've always found, "you get what you pay for" so decided to invest in a nice inflatable bed. After using this for guests 3 times, it started leaking during the night. My husband found where it was leaking along a seam. Couldn't return it because by that time it was past the warranty. Tried repairing it with no luck. What a huge waste of money.

Best blow-up mattress

I have been using the queen-sized bed for over a year, on and off. Took it on vacation to our son's who had no bed; used it for guests in our home, and have taken it to other relatives who only had sofa sleepers. Loved it because it was so comfortable. Did put padded mattress pad on it under the sheets. Slept very well, much better than on any other blow-up mattress and even some beds. Inflates and deflates with the touch of a button. We will be purchasing another one to replace an old guest bedroom mattress that is sagging. I highly recommend this product.

Pump would not work out of the box

Did some web research. This was a little pricey, but looked like a quality product. Read instructions and plugged it in to find pump would not start. No power at all. Double checked in another outlet, etc. Very disappointed. Boxed it up and am taking back to the store.

what a deal

I have just moved to Spokane (WA) from eastern KS and was in the market for a bed. I looked at all the myriad mattress places up here (Denver Mattress, Mattress Whse, etc) and just wasn't ready to spend $500 minimally for a conventional mattress & box set. I had resigned myself to sleeping on a stack of blankets & comforters on the floor as my bed. Well, after ONE NIGHT of that, I said sh@# no !! I hadn't even researched any inflatables either on-line or in-store, but I was at a thrift store (City Union Mission on Sprague in Spokane Valley !!) and they had a couple conventional things, but then there was this "huge" inflated thing in their mattresses rack. I checked it out -- it was an Aero-Bed queen, all inflated, just standing there in the rack. I looked it over -- it seemed to be ok -- it was inflated, yaknow !! They had an $80.00 price tag on it, but I said oh, what the h@#* ...", and I bought it. It is an older (?) model with the pump on the side. It also has the travel bag ! ! I got it home and "pumped it up", and Voila !! It at first did seem to have a little leak, but try torquing down the exhaust cap a little -- seemed to work for me. Anyhow -- it is so d@#$ comfortable I don't know if I'll get a conventional bed anytime soon. Thanks, Aero-Bed for a pretty good product, and a pretty good price !!

Just what I was looking for

After spending much time in trying to find something to be used as an extra bed when our son comes in for a visit we settled on this full size bed. We looked at chair and 1/2 sleeper beds and twin pullout ottomans but all iof these mattresses felt terrible. We brought the aerobed home and set it up. It did have a bit of a plastic smell but that quickly went away. My husband tried it out for a nap and liked it. Our son came in that weekend and used it and said he liked it. Our teenage daughter also used it and really liked it. I did put a quilt on it before putting sheets on it. It almost looked like a real bed since its raised. Very easy to inflate and deflate. No problem putting it back in the bag. For what I needed this fit the bill. I hope we don't have any problems with it leaking.

A Waste of Money

Last summer I bought this aerobed from Bed Bath and Beyond in NC where I bought a house. I didn't have time to test it since I had to return to NY where I currently live. This summer I returned to NC and I was horrified to see that this aerobed was leaking air, and after a couple of hours of sleep, I was buried in the middle of the partially deflated aerobed. It was simply torture sleeping on this thing.

I have only used the two twin beds once, but they are easy to use and easy to store. Be prepared to air these mattresses out for at least a week before using as they smell bad on first use.

Not Worth the $

I have been through multiple air mattresses in the last ten years and thought that it would be a good idea to spend more to get a higher quality mattress. BAD IDEA. I purchased mine on December 20, 2010, from Bed Bath and Beyond. A little more than a year later (conveniently right after the warranty expired), it will no longer hold air. The company has only a stock response - if you are past 365 days, then we have no liability. The product is no better than the cheaper air mattresses that I have bought over the years, but costs at least 4 to 5 times more. I will not be fooled again and urge you to think twice. It will be great the first few times you use it, but I used mine less than ten times before it started failing to hold air. I am very disappointed after paying ~ $260 (including tax) and having the product last only a year.

LOVE IT!

I recently had knee replacement surgery. My regular bed is 35 inches from the ground so getting in and out once first home was not an option. My son has an AeroBed for his college apartment and suggested I get another on for a temporary fix for myself. It works perfect, in fact once I was able to go back to my normal bed within two days I went back to the AeroBed because it was much more comfortable. Anyone that has has this type of surgery will tell you sleep evades you and getting comfortable is impossible at first. The AeroBed is like a ghetto sleep number bed...you just press the button and as it deflates it gives you a big bed hug and situates your body in the position that is most comfortable. When you need to get up off the bed you just reinflate to the maximum and you are able to stand easily unlike some lower beds. Not sure if I will ever go back to my normal bed. Great second purchase and for totally different reasons. I must say it has even improved over the past 5 years.

I previously left a negative review of this product, which turned out to spring a leak after only several uses -- and also turned out to require maintenance of a rubber part every several months. However, I wanted to add that as a company, Bed Bath and Beyond has been great. They honored the warranty and let me return the product with ease. My credit card was credited within days. Thank you to Bed Bath and Beyond for your superior customer service!

On a long term assignment away from home, I hoped that this bed could be a solution for buying a bed for my corporate apartment. It's great, in fact I'm sleeping better on it then my conventional mattress back home. It looks and feels like a regular bed when made up and I' ve piled pillows around the top to make it look more like a regular bed. The best news though is that six months into nearly nightly use, it's still working great and no problems.

I Agree: Disappointed

I bought the Aerobed queen-sized model. At first it worked well and inflated/deflated quickly. But after about 5 uses, the Aerobed began deflating in the middle of the night. When I called Aerobed's customer service line, they explained that to maintain the bed, the rubber ring surrounding the air valve must be pried off and then soaked in hot water. (I think they said this must be done about every three months!) This seemed like way too much maintenance for a bed I only use for guests every couple of months anyway.
Besides, I did soak the ring according to their instructions, and the bed *still* deflated in the middle of the night. This means that there's a leak somewhere. I just don't have time to look for a leak, and am very disappointed. I paid $300 for this product, and it sprang a leak after we used it about 5 times.

I used this bed in Afghanistan. I had it shipped out to replace the Chinese Box spring for a mattress that was in my room. It may seem over the top but I wear a lot of equipment all day and when I get back to my room to sleep I believe in good sleep. This mattress was flawless. No leaks, No lumps, no drama. I sold it for what I paid for it when I left to an Irish friend of mine who is still enjoying it with no problems.

I purchased this bed for company in my Chicago condo. I have had a 9 year old and a 6 year old jumping up and down with no leaks. The family has left and I still have the bed up and I'm sleeping on it just to see if the bad ratings are true. So far, they are NOT. I even have a cat who will jump up and still no leaks.

Not worth the price

I bought this bed hoping to get a good nights sleep just as the box promised. However, I did not achieve a good nights sleep. Setting up the bed was easy and inflating it was very easy as well. The sleep number system sets the firmness of the bed by inflating it more to increase the firmness and deflating it more to increase the softness. I personally enjoy sleeping in a soft bed versus a firm one, and I had hopes that the softness setting would be enjoyable, but I was wrong. It just gets squishy and uncomfortable with the less air you have in it, and the firmness setting was too firm for me to enjoy. I woke up several times during the night drenched in sweat (the bed does not breathe at all to release heat). I like the height of the mattress and the idea of the sleep number system, it's unfortunate that it was not up to par. I had high hopes for this bed, but I could have boughten a much cheaper air mattress and probably would have had the same comfort on it as this one. Not worth the price. Save yourself some money, and buy a cheaper one.
