Don't Buy This!

This colander seems wonderful until you use it. Any particles that end up in the colander get stuck in between the rim and the mesh which makes it very difficult to clean. Look for a colander that is made of one piece to avoid this problem. I took mine back for this reason.

Cleaning is torture!

ONLY purchase this strainer if you're going to be using it for large whole vegetables or fruit. DO NOT purchase if you are going to be using it for pasta or anything smaller. The edges of this strainer are not sealed so all smaller food particles get stuck making it an absolute nightmare to clean. I wish I would have noticed that before I bought it. As someone else mentioned the metal is very thin--thin enough that the label's plastic connectors actually widened the holes on bottom. It's just poorly designed.

I use this often, it fits right over the sink. The mesh is a bit thin, so just be careful how you store this item.

Not for delicate pastas..

This strainer is great for fruits and veggies, but is hard on pastas, particularly delicate ones like tortolloni and ravioli. I also prepare small pastas for my sons baby foods and they get stuck up under the rim and fall out over time. We've had it a few years and the mesh has changed shape, particularly around the rim.
