I own another food mill, different brand, at my second home. Bought this one for convenience. It is hard, almost impossible for my hands, to put thé blade/handle in and get it out again. It left way too much food in thé bowl that refused to go through thé seive holes. It is going back to thé store ASAP. Why aren't they carrying thé OXO brand food mill when they have their other products on thé shelf ? It works.

The other negative reviews are accurate -- I tried to use this with the medium filter to mush cooked potatoes for potato soup. Only about 5% of the potatoes actually went through the sieve; the rest just mixed around in the bowl. Glad I saved the box and receipt because this product is going back to the store.

I used my mom's little old food mill for decades. Then I ventured out to Bed, Bath etc and got me the glorios looking thingy that was recommended by the store. Some mistake. It just does not function:
Does not grind fine enough.
Does not push the food through the disk and leaves lots of good food behind that will be wasted.
I would recommend to use a sieve and a spatula.
Unfortunately I lost the receipt, otherwise it would go right back to the store!

Horrible product

I put this thing together and took it apart about 6 time. Never could get the handle to turn. It was mashed down against the lower disc so badly that it just was beyond any thought of turning.

Try the Oxo Good Grips food mill. Much better!

i read the reviews after i purchased this product. i almost cored and peeled my apples, for i was nervous that i was going to have quite the mess. quite opposite! this gadget worked fine! i was making apple/plum butter, i had to make applesauce first. if a pit from the plums sneaks in, i would have to fish it out. actually not me, my husband. his part of the process was using the food mill. i look forward to making homemade baby food for our soon to be baby~

Take This Off The Market!

I needed a food mill to make grape jam and I couldn't find my faithful Foley. I couldn't turn the handle, seeds were flying everywhere and it was doing a terrible job of mashing the grapes. I can't say one good thing about this piece of equipment. I returned it within a week.

My old food mill died after 20 years of faithful service. I purchased this product as a replacement. It is poorly designed, does not have bottom support to rest of the edge of a bowl or pan. It is unstable when the handle is being turned. It does not mash, grind or in any other way push food through the three disks. It strains. I will be returning this product. Very dissatisfied!

I'd give this negative stars if allowed, crank is impossible to turn, and very difficult to put disc in. Returned and purchased the OXO model, much better and well worth the extra money.... Especially since you couldn't use one with a crank that won't turn!

Nice product but.... doesn't work!

In principle this is perfect - it looks good, feels good, is a good price... but it just didn't do the job! For some reason I couldn't get it to push the food down through the holes. It would either just push the food around the bowl or push it up over the blades so I'd have to keep poking it back down again. Really frustrating. I returned this and will keep trying to find a decent one.
