Our household consists of 3 adults and 2 very young toddlers. Our carpets go through a LOT. We were renting a cleaner every couple of weeks so we thought it would be cheaper to own one. I am glad we bought the Hoover Platinum Collection™ Steam Vacuum Carpet Cleaner it really is worth the money. Walmart has it cheaper but BBB price matched.
The machine does clean quite well, leaving the carpet nice and soft with no stains.

Great job cleaning but it broke

I love this carpet cleaner. It did a great job, easy to use. I had used it three different times when I noticed piece's of plastic on my floor. The bottom of the carpet cleaner, which is plastic, had cracked and piece's were falling out. I was so upset however bed bath beyound took it back in the store and mail us another one. I am going to baby the new one and hope that it doesn't break again.

Great cleaner - Poor Service

I have used the Hoover carpet cleaner 2 times. I purchased it in March, 2011. It does a super job cleaning, 1 level house, no steps, off-white carpet. However, after the first usage, upon cleaning the brushes, we noticed a piece had broken off where the rotating brushes attach, which made the brushes wobble. I returned the Hoover to the store.The new one arrived, again it did a super job cleaning. However the same thing happened again. We took it to a Hoover repair shop on 7/11/11. Bottom line, it is still in the shop as of 9/20/11. Japan now owns Hoover; all parts are ordered from Japan. Worst service ever!!!!! Also, everything is plastic & now assume the machine has to be handled very very carefully. We believe the part that keeps breaking should be redesigned. Couldn't clean my carpet for a summer party in August.I was disappointed after paying $400 for it. Hope I get back before Christmas. It has a 6 year warranty.
