I LOVE my pedipaws nail trimmer! I've read some reviews and can agree (to a point) with some of the negative ones BUT I also have to say that if your pet was scared of the noise of the trimmer then the owners probably didn't take the time to "introduce" their pet to the trimmer. You also need to read the directions and, if possible, watch the instructional video to really know how to use it. The only complicated thing I've found while using the trimmer is laying across your dog and supporting yourself with one elbow, but you can find other ways to make yourself and your pet comfortable while trimming their nails.

I LOVE this product. Does a great job trimming 3 small dogs (up to 25 lbs). They weren't sure about it at the beginning - now it's a relaxing time for them. One of them falls asleep while I trim her nails. I seem to go thru them often. Went to 5 places today to try and find another one. Had to order online. Would Highly Recommend PediPaws.

Assuming your dog stays still(the noise factor), it is still next to impossible to shorten their nails with this thing.....you would be there all day.

I have 2 small dogs and this trimmer is terrible for both dogs. My one little dog, her nails are starter to get softer from age, and there is no way to safely use this on her without hurting her. I have a battery operated dremal drill which I can use on a low speed without hurting her or damaging the nail.

I had purchased this item because I thought it would be good to use on my dachshund. Boy was I wrong, when I turned it on and tried to use it my dog was so scared that he peed on the floor. I returned it immediately.

Although it took a little while for the dog to get used to, she finally got used to the noise. However it takes way too long to trim her nails. Maybe it is a little easier on small dogs, but I find it much easier to just use clippers.

Dogs Hated the Noise

I know it's not very loud at all but as soon as I turned it on all 3 of my dogs ran under the bed. While I got my husband to hold them for me I couldn't see any filing or shortening after a few passes of it over the nail. They wouldn't stay still long enough to make any progress. Maybe if I'd started using it when they were puppies they would of gotten used to it. I will stick with my vet!

Tried it on my dogs because they hate nail trimmers, it really didn't do much good. It was easier to just trim them with normal clippers. Granted they did not run away from the sound, but that's about the only perk. My mom used to groom dogs for dog shows with a drimmel sander back in the day, I thought this would be a newer version but wireless, I was sad it didn't work. Not worth the money.

My dogs (2 italian greyhounds) are pretty timid about getting their nails trimmed with a clipper (one of them has black nails so it's hard to get really close without hurting). I tried one of those electric nail trimmers and they didn't like the noise and the cord always got in my way. This uses batteries so I can use it anywhere and it's quiet. I trim my dogs' nails twice a month and I have only had to change the batteries once in 2 years and the filing pad twice! It lasts much longer than it looks!
