Customer Reviews for Bissell Bissell® Pet Hair Eraser™ Vacuum

Bissell Bissell® Pet Hair Eraser™ Vacuum

Remove stubborn pet hair build-up from even the toughest areas to reach. The Bissell® Pet Hair Eraser™ dual cyclonic vacuum features superior suction, a rotating brush, and a pet hair lifter on the wide foot. The Pet Contour Tool™ bends and flexes to pull out dirt and hair stuck on stairs, armrests, and other curved or hard to reach surfaces. The Pet Hair Turbo Brush™ combines a rotating brush with special rubber fingers that work as magnets to attract and pick up pet hair. Cyclonic cleaning technology keeps the filter clean longer for superior suction power. Through cyclonic cleaning, more dirt and pet hair stays in the dirt container where it belongs. Vacuum features a headlight, 7 height adjustments, a 14 foot flexible stretch hose, a 35 foot power cord, a crevice tool, a curved hose wand and an extension wand. UL listed. Model #3920.

I registered for this vacuum for my wedding. It works great! I was really worried about it not working well because I have 2 dogs and a cat. It works great. It has wonderful suction and awesome attachments. You just need to keep the filters clean.

Product Doesn't Last

I purchased this vacuum approximately 2 1/2 years ago. Although the vacuum is heavy and hard to maneuver, it cleaned great for the first six months or so. After that it seemed to not be cleaning as well. Now, the beater-bar won't rotate if the vacuum is on carpet. The belt is fine and no apparent reason the beater-bar won't rotate on carpet. I am planning to replace this vacuum rather than try and mess with fixing it at this point. Don't waste you money on this vacuum.

Wasted potential

Pros: Vacuum has very good suction and comes with a couple of good attachments for cat hair--I also liked the fact that the pegs to wrap the cord around were relatively close together and somewhat high up on the back of the vacuum so that I didn't need to bend when wrapping it--
Cons: Where to start?--1) The vacuum is heavy and doesn't handle particularly well, causing back strain-- 2) While the suction was good, at least initially, the dust cup was too small and, thus, had to be emptied way too often-- 3) Which brings us to the fact that removing the dust cup for emptying was always a messy process--I always had to re-vacuum the area where the machine had been when I removed the cup-- 4) From the very beginning it was louder than any other vacuum I'd had and after about 2 years it suddenly got louder yet and no one could find what was causing it--Fact was, at that point it was just too loud to use anymore--
I wised up, donated this machine (keeping the two pet hair attachments) and got a Dyson--Much better choice--Much

I love this vacuum. I've had it for about 2 years now and it works great. The only draw back is that emptying the canister is a little messy that's why I didn't give it a 5. Seeing all the hair in the canister and how much gets gathered in such a small area makes me realize how good it is.
I not only would recommend it, I did. My daughter is buying this for her house. She has 2 dogs.

Not tough in the the long run

I bought this vacuum 3.5 years ago, and for the first six months or so, it worked pretty well cleaning up after a dog and cat who shed profusely. Over the last three years, it has gradually lost suction, the pet hair and dirt will leave the canister and go up into the filter, even when it isnt nearly full, and lately it's begun to fling kitty litter and other debris out of the rear of the vacuum. The attachment hoses now wil not pick up anything. I can't stand it anymore; I am getting a new vacuum ASAP.

Melted vacuum AND Melted Carpet!!!

This vaccuum I've had a little over a year, and it's been... ok, never great. My husband and I just bought a house and as I was vacuuming the stairs today began smelling burnt carpet/plastic. Yep, the unit at the bottom of the stairs, unbeknownst to me, KEEPS RUNNING, even when you're using the detachable wand. Now the bottom of my stairs' carpet has a burnt mark on it AND some of the plastic overheated/melted and now the bristles at the bottom of the vacuum won't spin anymore. Any time I turn it on it just starts to overheat and give a burning smell!!!! It's so awful, I wish I could give it zero stars!

I have had this vacuum a little over a year but it hasn't worked properly for the last several months. At first it worked perfectly. I have a long haired cat and need to use it often. The dirt, dust and hair gets caught up above the canister and it's hard to empty. It was very messy and every time I thought it was empty I would find more stuff stuck in it. Now it sucks very little and leaves trails of dirt.

Melted Carpet

This vacuum melted the carpet on my stairs because the brush does not stop spinning while the vacuum sits stationary to enable you to use the attachments. It has cost me over $1000 of damage. I would NOT recommend this vacuum.

Worst Vacuum I've ever owned!

This vacuum deserves a negative rating, it clogs, the filter underneath is impossible to remove when it becomes full of dog hair that should go into the canister, and it roars like a jet engine. Simply the worst purchase I have ever made.

Bissell pet hair vacuum

This product has been a nightmare. Upon purchase took it home , vacuumed for no more than 10 mins and the motor overheated and blew the fuse.
I gave the store benefit of the doubt and decided
I had just been unlucky and took another one in exchange. This one lasted 3 months and has
completely packed in . It will only suck up a
small amount of dust , pet hair and dander and then it blocks up and overheats. Cleaning out the canister and cooling vents is very tricky.

Returned it!

I bought this last night and returned it last night. Although it did a pretty good job of vacuuming the dirt and hair, the suction got clogged often. All of the hair and dirt got stuck in the top and did not drop into dirt canister. And when I tried to get the clogged hair out, it ended up all over my hands and the vacuum. It was a complete mess! I didn't want to deal with this every time I needed to empty it so the suction would work better, so I took it back and got a Eureka....which has so much more suction and the canister was MUCH easier and cleaner to empty! I do not recommend this vacuum unless you don't mind dealing with a mess!
