Awesome Board!

I bought this board back in May 2011. It’s now January 2012, and the board is in perfect condition. I can only think that the several negative reviews are from people who are unfamiliar with using a wood cutting board. All wood cutting boards (please note the "all") need to be pre-treated with wood oil (generally mineral oil). This prevents the cracking and splitting that seems to be an issue for several people. You cannot simply use a wood cutting board straight out of the box. So, that being said, so long as you treat the board like it’s supposed to be treated, you should love this board. I also particularly like the feet. We keep this board on our counter all the time, and the feet prevent any liquids spilled on the counter from soaking into the board. I would definitely recommend this board. For the price, there is really nothing else comparable.

I received one of these as a shower gift in 2005. To date it is in great condition. Don't put it in the dishwasher.

I saw this item in the store while picking out my wedding registry and fell in love with the look. After reading the online reviews I was a bit wary about how it would hold out. So when we actually recieved this as a gift, I made sure to research how to care for a butcher block and learned Mineral Oil is what you need. This block soaked up an entire 8 oz bottle before I even used it! I finished it off with a butcher block conditioner, that has wax mixed in with the Mineral Oil. I Have used the cutting board 2 weeks now daily and there are no stains or cracks, and I've been very happy with the product. Just remember to pre-treat!

i got this for my bridal shower and used it a couple times a week. One month later, half of the seams are split open. It is garbage. I will be returning it.

Unbelievably poor quality

Purchased on 2 Dec, 2010 late afternoon...
By the morning of 4 Dec, 2010 the board had already
warped and split open... Apparently the wood has never
been cured (dried)... Very poor workmanship...
I hate writing bad reviews; but this one deserves it and more...
My guess is many more will be returned to the store...

Poor Cutting Board

This cutting board looks really nice, but the durability is terrible. We've used it a total of 6 times and it has already begun to delaminate. Not soaking mind you, just washing with a sponge and water as recommended. We will try to return it, but since it is off our registry and there is no gift receipt I'm not holding out much hope. Go with another product.
