As someone else mentioned, it works great for a few years but then it gets clogged up and never mists again, just a dribbly stream. Misto wants $7 for a new pump so it's cheaper to buy a new one every few years.

I read all the reviews I could find before getting this.

This is a fantastic little sprayer to have handy, especially if you know how to use it. I only fill mine halfway (don't go through it that fast anyway), and I twist the top to release pressure after each use.

It may seem redundant to know how to 'trick' your gadgets into working, but to me, if I have to do a little something something each time I use it to ensure it lasts longer than if I didn't.. I'm ok with that.

I purchased two three years ago and use daily with different oils. I just purchased a third one to use with a new oil I'm trying. The main factor I love is the ability to evenly oil food without using too much or being able to lightly oil a pan to prevent sticking. No problems with the spray clogging. Can place in the dishwasher.

We have had ours for years, and have never had one clog on us (maybe the person who put that in their review would do well to simply report a defective pump and receive a new one).

We've got one with canola oil and one with olive oil, and we will never again have to spend $3 on a bottle of Pam from the grocery store, much less spray unnecessary propellants on our food and toss more trash in a landfill.

What an excellent purchase. LOVE these.

The only reason for the four star review vs. five is that the top is plastic, not metal like the bottom, so it can scratch easily.

I bought this based off reviews from Amazon, because reviews on here weren't the best. I had trouble with it at first, but then this review on Amazon helped me:

Works great, especially with olive oil, but there are a couple of tricks to getting the most out of it. First, fill it only half way. Second, if you twist the top after each use to release the pressure you can avoid clogging problems. My first one lasted only a year or so because I had not learned that 'releasing the pressure' trick and the nozzle got irreparably clogged. Even hot soapy water didn't fix the problem. A chef friend of mine told me how to avoid the trouble. Since then, the replacement has been going strong for over two years now. Nice even spray with no clogging. Great gadget. I use it all the time!

I tried one with olive oil and one with canola oil. They both clogged very easily. I was always having to soak the sprayer in dish detergent. They are too much trouble to use.

We purchased 2 Mistos a year ago. We've had much pleasure in how well they work. This product has saved us money in that there is no waste. We use it everyday! We've been cooking with olive oil for decades, but never with a much ease and convenience as the Misto offers. My husband and kids use it for everything from eggs to grilling. In addition to that, I use the 2nd one for hair care and body products. It's an awesome product idea!

In theory, the product is supposed to be easier and healthier, but in reality it's a waste. From the first time I used it, it has done nothing but clog, squirt, and drip oil everywhere, instead of providing an even spray. It's not worth the aggravation.

It's great in the beginning, then it tends to clog and deliver a stream of oil instead of a mist and needs to be cleaned. Just unscrew the sprayer, submerse it in water and pump water through it with the cap just as when you want to pump the sprayer up. This forces water through it and so far, it's done a good job for me. I also found that it helps to unscrew it just enough to release the pressure before storing.

It misted for all of the 2 seconds and then sprayed the oil. Can not get it to mist. Thought it was a bargain at $10 (I had seen a much more expensive version at another store), now I know why it is so cheap.

This olive oil sprayer is fabulous. I can lightly spray my pans when cooking with natural real olive oil. I control what goes into it, instead of having to trust those oil sprays like PAM. It is very convenient, and much easier than greasing a pan with butter!

The misto will deliver a MIST of oil when new but the mist will become a thin stream after a while. To restore the unit so that it will deliver a mist I clean all the parts with a Water-Pik,. I take off the button on top and force the water pik stream through all the openings and then shoot water down the tube that the oil travels up. The cleaning process is a little messy because water sprays out of the Water-Pik.

I keep a second Misto for Balsamic vinegar. That one never clogs and always delivers a MIST of vinegar.

I don't understand all the positive reviews? maybe they haven't had this tool for a long time but i do, and if it was great at the begining, it is not spraying anything anymore, just a little stream and that's it, no matter how much you clean it and handle it. nothing beats the ready to use spray can, especially when we now have a choice of type of oil in it.

This little tool is super handy. We use heart healthy olive oil for most of our cooking. The Misto allows for a light, even, coating. Great for roasting veggies, coating pans, etc. If you are looking for a replacment for PAM...just buy PAM. If you are looking for an healthy, easy way to add some flavor to your cooking you will love this product.

I absolutely love my MISTO!!! Saves time and money, Easy to use, Green product, what more can you ask for. I use it for making pancakes and paninis. Excellent to spray on bread and on the panini press instead of using a brush which can be messy and also uses too much oil. Did i say I LOVE this thing :)
