Customer Reviews for Oxo Oxo Good Grips Salad Spinners

Oxo Oxo Good Grips Salad Spinners

Take your lettuce for a spin. Perfect for smaller salads, this little salad spinner features all of the same wonderful features as a larger spinner. Simple to use. Just fill basket with rinsed salad greens, place in bowl, close lid and press top knob to spin. Brake allows you to stop the spinning action whenever you want. Both the pumping knob and brake are covered in Oxo's comfort grip rubber. Bowl capacity: 3 quarts.

Worked great until it fell apart

I have had spinners before and they never worked. This one worked great and I used it all the time. We eat a lot of salads and I always put the parts in the upper part of the dishwasher. I have had it for about 6 months and had no problem. The other day when separating the parts to put in the dishwasher, the top where the push handle is fell apart and the spring popped out. I examined it to see what happened and it appears that the glue or whatever they use, stopped working and there was nothing to hold the parts together. Nothing was broken. I am very disappointed because it did work great before this time.

How did I live w/out a salad spinner for so long??

As my title states, how did I go so long without owning a salad spinner!?!? I began buying those bagged salads then just got so sick and tired of them already bad by the time I got home. It wasn't until I was diagnosed w/diabetes a couple months ago and needed to get serious w/my veggies etc that I realized, I must get me a salad spinner. Did research and kept coming back to this one and one other. While in BBB, saw the small one but decided look go big or nothing at all lets get the bigger one. Glad I did..however, I wouldn't even mind having a 2nd one (just to have). And yes, it can take up some space but as the other reviewer stated...if you like to just prep for the week or for me anyways its about every 3-4 days Im ready to do again...but the bigger one is worth it. Come holidays however, I may need the smaller one only so I can get the turkey or ham or anything else in the fridge because Im loading my fridge now with as much veggies/fruits I can being diabetic. This was a smart small investment to make my life so much easier...getting a 2nd one would be well worth it too. The "time" involved trying to get lettuce dried and I felt like I came out of the caveman days once I tried this for the first time....sooo easy, simple, all I asked myself is "where have you been girl where have you been"...should have done this longggg ago!!! Something so simple and small can make someone so happy and their life easier! haha'
I got the clear over the steel (for now) because I think the presentation of seeing the salad thru the sides of the bowl on a table looks pretty and colorful...there is only one small minimal question in my mind about the bowl and that is that Im noticing a slight "ring" around it from I guess when you "break the spin" but I normally let it sit there and spin after it is slowing down some. The bottom has a little rubbery something to it that does help it from slipping/bouncing on the countertop but if you are rough with it obviously it could jump /bounce away or fall off the edge of the counter. Its just common sense....stand there and gently but quickly spin it then wait for it to slow down and then walk away. It is like a washing machine! lol'. Spin N' Dry! ;-)) Im so happy with my purchase and very happy of having chose this one. Now to get the small one when needed or possibly even mix it up a bit and when I want the smaller version will try the stainless steel one ....both should act the same:))

i had a smaller salad spinner for the longest time and always wanted a larger one from the get go. i eat a ton of leafy greens, so, you really need the bigger one if you are like me and like to wash everything one day and have it prepped for the week. it takes up more space, but you get so much more done. this also works WAAAAAAY better than the cheapo one i got at ross or whereever i got the old one. very sturdy, dishwasher safe, large capacity. yay!

After 12 years of weekly use mine unfortunalty broke. I've loved this tool for the spinning mechanism - no cranking. Breaking mechanism did wear after time but to be expected. Didn't put it the dishwasher on any regular basis saw no need when washing letuce or herbs. Replacing with the same product!

I do not recommend this item to anyone!!! they preech on how durable it is, and this piece is not even dishwasher safe. I have problems with the break button doesnt spin correctly if not on a flat surface. Just an all around bad good buy!!

OXO Good Grips ~ Great Buy

I've used the large salad spinner for 3 months, always clean the bowl and basket on the top shelf of the dishwasher, hand wash the lid, and it looks like new. I don't heat dry... the water from the hot sanitize rinse evaporates instantly. No melt and no discoloration.

I've had mine for 10 years and it is still going strong. We garden and it works great for cleaning and drying our fresh from the garden organic greens. We don't miss not putting it in the dishwasher - all it takes is a rinse in hot tap water to clean. We could not do without it.

I love this salad spinner. It does a great job of cleaning and drying lettuce ( I prefer fresh greens as opposed to bagged ones.) I have had mine for years, and it still works as well as the first day I used it. I wash it by hand. Once you've used this, it is hard to be without it.

The spinner worked great until I used hot water one day to wash it and it actually warped to the point where the lid did not fit on it anymore and I had to throw it out. I have since purchased the Oxo Good Grips® Steel Salad Spinners and recommend them over these.

I got this from one of our kids a year ago, and I'm buying for one of them this year. Still works like the first day I used it & we use it several times a week. Very durable and efficient. The brake was new to me & it's a great feature. Best spinner I ever used!
