Do not waste even 10 bucks on this

This is a very poorly designed product. It does not fold (although it is not high enough for a large collection of slices to fit underneath. It wont fit over a bowl. It does not have non-slip feet. The (if it only it was!) sharp blade is fully exposed when you need to change the platform for different sized slices. And worst of all the blade is not sharp enough to slice even light duty veggies. I tried slicing onions on the thinnest cut, and on the next thicker. The slices caught in the blade and were mangled. Next I tried slicing zucchini crosswise (into disks), I got a mess on both the medium and thick blades; the zucchini got caught in the blade, and sometimes stuck while slicing. I have one of the $17 3-thickness slicers that used to be $10-15 ish, also from Bed Bath and Beyond it still does a great job after a few years.

got this as a gift, almost returned because i read a previous review that said it didn't adjust, if you READ the instructions, it shows you how to get thin, medium and thick slices! the flat piece is double sided, one is thick and the other medium and the julienne piece flips over as well to make thin slices.

My niece was looking for an inexpensive mandoline. I got her this one because it was the same brand I purchased 15 years ago for 5 bucks, but mine only has 3 blades.. and it's going to another marathon work out thru the holidays. Nice uniformity of sizes for both slices and julienne. Makes for nice even cooking and appetizing appearance of dishes.

You get what you pay for. Slices too thick, no adjusting.

This is not a heavy duty mandolin. It is light, made from plastic and costs $10. You can not expect it to work like a stainless steel mandolin. It is what it is, and what it is is great for the money. Used it in a cooking class last night: - sliced 10 lbs of potatoes and three large onions for a tortilla - julienned carrots, parsnips, daikon and granny apple (peel on) for a slaw - grated mozzarella for frittata i really love it, and for the price it's incredible. i recommended it to every one of my students, especially the college kids that have such limited budgets. i don't expect it to do everything, or to last forever, but i see using it often.

Slices Too Thick

This works ok for the price, I guess. Never tried anything but the plain slicing blade. My big problem with it is that even the thinnest setting is way too thick for anything like potato chips.

I purchased this for an inexpensive slicer. I also bought one as part of an engagement gift for my sister in law. I used mine on the thin slicer for potatoes. The potato got stuck twice and then the blade separated from the frame. It is poor quality and I had to emabarrasingly ask my sister in law for hers back before it too broke on the first use. Buy somthing better!

I wanted a mandolin, but didn't want to spend too much. This little thing works very well for the occasional user. I just chopped up 6 potatoes in just a couple of minutes... just be sure to use the safety guard as it is very sharp. This is a perfect 'low investment' to see if you would like a mandolin. Can't wait to try all of the plates.

I don't do much non-knife slicing, but when I do I use this product. It's very sharp so use the guard when possible or get the Cut Safe Glove for piece of mind. It makes quick work of large slicing jobs.
